喜北I went to Moments at the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, where Spanish chef Carme Ruscalleda and her son Raúl Balam co-chefed, for my birthday with my friends. We had the latest "movie theme" set menu, which was inspired by ten classic movies: the $5 milkshake in Pulp Fiction was made into a precious dessert, the sinking scene of Titanic became a show of local seafood, and the eye-catching corsage in The Godfather was transformed into beef and eggplant rolls. The layers of flavor made people love it... Creating with a fixed theme seems to be a propositional composition, but it is not easy to take into account the chef's own cooking style, understanding of the theme, and incorporating local elements. Fortunately, we were quick-witted and decided to make the best of it. We turned into diners! On a Friday night, we were given a very good seat without a reservation. It seems that business is not good! My classmates and I chose the most classic 68 euro menu. We have learned some of the dishes in class, so there is nothing new about the whole set. If you are curious about classic Catalan cuisine, you might as well give it a try!
