My friend and I were passing by this restaurant and were drawn in by the aroma, haha. We ordered their signature Sichuan peppercorn fish hot pot. The smell of Sichuan peppercorns hit our noses as soon as it was served—it was so fragrant! The fish was incredibly tender, it didn't fall apart when we picked it up, and it was soaked in the broth, making it incredibly flavorful. The spiciness was just right for me; it wasn't so spicy that I was screaming, but it was still very flavorful. The bean sprouts and tofu skin inside were also delicious, getting more flavorful the longer they cooked, and they were perfect with rice. The two of us ate a whole pot and were so full we could barely walk. I definitely want to try other flavors next time.
The two of us ordered a set meal for two, but it ended up being more than enough for three people, and we even had to take some home. Sitting by the window, the soft lighting made us feel relaxed and at ease. The signature dish was quite delicious, and it was especially comforting with rice. This kind of place is perfect for taking your time and not rushing.
As soon as I sat down, the waiter brought over a plate of pickled celery. I was initially worried about filling my stomach, but once I started eating, I couldn't stop—the sour and spicy flavor was just too addictive, haha. Remember to dip the scallion pancakes in the sauce from the bottom of the pot; they soak up the broth and taste several times better than eating them plain. I devoured three by myself. If you go, you absolutely must try this way of eating, seriously!
