🛑Self-Drive Route Plan
➡️Departing from Lhasa: The drive from Lhasa is approximately 70 kilometers, taking about two hours. We recommend taking the Airport Expressway, connecting to the Gangdui Town-Dongla Township Ring Road. Along the way, you&#39;ll cross the Gangbala Pass, at an altitude of 5,030 meters. This is the perfect opening for a panoramic view of Yamdrok Lake. The rolling mountains and winding Yamdrok Lake come into view for the first time, awe-inspiring.
➡️Yamdrok Lake Scenic Route: After passing the Gangbala Pass, continue along the Ring Road. First, visit the famous Rito Monastery. Built on an isolated island, this isolated temple stands out against the azure waters and fluttering prayer flags, making it a perfect photo spot. Then, head to the Lujila Observation Deck. From an altitude of 4,960 meters, the 360-degree panoramic view of Yanghu Lake fully showcases its grandeur and vastness.

As you approach Langgarzi County, follow the navigation instructions to your reserved starry sky campsite. 💢Driving Tips
➡️Vehicle Selection: While most of the road is in good condition, an SUV or off-road vehicle is recommended for increased maneuverability and safety in case of unpaved roads. Before departure, be sure to check the condition of your vehicle, including tires, brakes, and engine oil, to ensure a smooth journey. ➡️Road Conditions and Driving: The road around Gangbala Mountain has many sharp curves, so drive carefully, control your speed, and avoid large vehicles. Some sections of the Yangmtso Lake Ring Road are graveled, so avoid sudden braking and sharp turns to prevent skidding. Also, there are no gas stations along the way from Lhasa to Yangmtso Lake, so remember to fill up your tank in advance.

🎉Document Preparation: Bring your ID card, as you will pass through checkpoints along the way. If you plan to visit areas near the border on the Yangmtso Lake Outer Ring Road, obtain a border pass in advance.
➡️Preventing Altitude Sickness: Take Rhodiola rosea 1-2 days in advance and carry an oxygen tank and glucose solution in your vehicle. Avoid strenuous exercise when you first arrive at the plateau to give your body time to acclimate.
