The taste is good, the price is affordable, and the noodles are delicious
Delicious, inexpensive and unique. Highly recommended. You must try it when you come to Hunyuan.
Hunyuan County isn't large, but it's surrounded by a city wall, and the area within a kilometer radius is bustling. When we were having jelly, the locals recommended two places, and we chose this one. The decor is very stylish, and the place is large. After we finished eating, we started to line up. The Kung Fu Fish, probably a type of carp, was incredibly large. At first, I thought it was sold by the kilogram, thinking it would cost over a hundred yuan. The bill came to 68, and I was shocked! I couldn't finish it! It tasted good. The four small bowls are Shanxi cold dishes, with vegetables, meat, and soy products. This portion is a substantial dish. The Kuangcai Tuan (Kuangcai Tuan) are vegetable dumplings. I still don't know what the filling is. I asked the waitress, but unfortunately, I didn't understand (it sounded like mustard greens). The outer shell was very thick and a bit choking. The pork noodle dumplings were delicious, as expected of a province known for its noodle dishes. The outer shell was chewy.

The interior is unique, with woodblock prints and a small courtyard gate that gives it a historical feel. It's also spacious and bright. The service is excellent, and they offer free popcorn. I tried several of the special dishes at the Beiyue Four Small Bowls. The meatballs and braised meat left a lasting impression. The vermicelli dumplings are different from regular dumplings, but they're quite good. The Shenxi Kung Fu Fish is a large carp, probably lightly fried and then braised. It was my first time eating carp, and the meat felt firmer than I'd expected.
