The cold rice noodles and cold rolls next door are also delicious.

Compared with another famous baba in Guandu, this one has fewer flavors. For someone like me who has a fear of choice, it's not that difficult. There are only four flavors, and they are all the same. Although this thing can be kept for a week, it is still better to eat it while it is hot. I ate two bites of it on the spot and it was soft and fragrant. After I went home and ate it cold, the skin was very chewy. |Sesame baba^ is the most distinctive flavor, and you must try it. This one has quite enough fillings. |Rose bean paste^ and |Peanut baba^ taste good. You can taste the aroma of roses and peanuts in one bite, but I feel that the fillings are too little, and it feels like there is not a full layer. By the way, the cold rice noodles and pea jelly next door are very delicious. You can buy a baba and a bowl of rice noodles or jelly, which is a perfect combination.

I went there in the morning but it was not open yet, so I left disappointed. I went there in the afternoon and it was super crowded. Some people bought more than ten at a time and left them outside to cool down before taking them away. I bought four for ten yuan. Unfortunately, there was no rose filling at that time, only peanut and sesame paste, which were also very good and made of real ingredients.

When I was in Kunming, I went to Guandu Ancient Town. When I passed by, I saw a lot of people queuing up for this glasses baba. As a foodie, I felt that I couldn't miss it, so I queued up to buy one and try it. It is also a local specialty. I watched the chef making the cakes on the spot. There are four flavors: white sugar sesame, rose bean paste, white sugar peanut, and wheat flour cake. I asked for the white sugar flavor, which was very sweet and the cake was quite chewy.

When you come to Guandu Ancient Town, the one that you line up near the Jingang Pagoda is the right one. You don't have to worry about not finding it because it's very obvious. There are a lot of people in the line, but because the checkout is fast, you don't have to wait for a few minutes. Unfortunately, the person in front of me bought 20 sesame ones at once, so I had to wait for a while for the newly baked ones. In fact, baba is similar to our stuffed sesame cakes. Various fillings are 2.5 yuan each, and they are very big and affordable. It's delicious. I personally feel that rose bean paste is better than white sugar sesame. The store said that the shelf life is one week, so don't store it in the refrigerator. Anyway, I took it home a few days later and it didn't go bad. It's okay to queue up and buy a hot one to try.

I took my kids to Kunming for a May Day holiday. This time I planned to stay in the city and not visit the surrounding areas. It was my first time to visit Guandu Ancient Town. The alley next to the square of the King Kong Pagoda in the innermost part of the ancient town is this famous Eye Baba. The shop is small, but it has a great background. There are a lot of intangible heritage and cultural inheritors. Who cares about these? The most important thing is that the food is delicious. There were a lot of people buying, and I lined up for a while. I bought a baba with rose filling. In fact, it felt like a pot cake to me, but the taste was really good. The dough was very crispy and fragrant, and the fillings were just right. The sweetness of the rose could be well integrated with the dough. It really tasted good, and the portion was large, and the price was cheap.
