pan***heThere happened to be a Hujia Baozi nearby, which was a chain store and a time-honored brand. When we arrived at the restaurant, we had to wait for the carrot and beef buns we had planned, so we ordered half a basket of beef buns and a bowl of millet porridge. I first got the millet porridge, drank a few sips, and then went to get the buns. Half a basket had 5 buns, not too big.

First time in Lanzhou? Just copy this itinerary! ✅Day 1: Gansu Provincial Museum → Xiaoxihu Lake → Yellow River Mother Sculpture → Lanshan Park Half-Mountain Gate Archway → Zhengning Road Snack Night Market ✅Day 2: Walk along the Yellow River → Yellow River Cableway → Zhongshan Bridge → Baitashan Park → Basui Grocery Store → Dazhong Lane Night Market 🍜Food Recommendations 1️⃣Ma Anjun Spicy Beef Noodles: Right next to the Provincial Museum. Long queues, so if you can't handle spice, be sure to ask for less chili, as their chili is extremely spicy. 2️⃣Hu Jia Baozi (Steamed Buns): These buns are really delicious! Two with vinegar and chili sauce are a perfect choice! Conveniently located next to Xiaoxihu subway station, priced around p16. 3️⃣Hand-pulled Lamb: Tried two different places, and the taste was pretty much the same. The lamb was especially delicious, oily and fragrant, with absolutely no gamey smell! Page 15 shows the places we ate at, and I personally thought they were all pretty good 👍 4️⃣ Charcoal-grilled skewers: We bought these randomly from a roadside stall, and they were surprisingly delicious! Charcoal-grilled skewers are definitely much more fragrant than electric ones. The picture is on page 16. These only cost 13 RMB in total, and the owner was very kind and even gave us a free skewer. 5️⃣ Ma's Beef Tongue Pastries: They come in three flavors, and each one is only 4 RMB, which is a great deal. We bought a lot before we left. Definitely do not buy from the night market! They're selling them for 8 RMB each! 🤫 6️⃣ Fangha Milk Tea: It's very convenient to order takeout while you're eating other things. I recommend the sweet fermented rice milk tea; it's a huge cup (p. 17). 📷 Great Photo Spots ✅ Lanshan Park Halfway Gate Archway: You can see Lanhaton from here at night. ✅ Zhongshan Bridge: It's beautiful both day and night. ✅ Reader's Digest: A memory of a generation. You can see it after crossing Zhongshan Bridge. It's also a great spot for photos with other landmarks. ✅ Eight-Year-Old General Store: There's a "I Love Lanzhou" graffiti wall at the entrance; it's a great photo spot. 🗒️ Tips 1️⃣ Remember to book in advance for the Gansu Provincial Museum! Book in advance! Book in advance! The Flying Horse of Gansu is right here! I can't stress this enough! 2️⃣ The Yellow River Mother Sculpture is much smaller than you might imagine. You can take a picture while passing by, but there's no need to set aside a lot of time for it. 3️⃣ "Afghanistan by day, Lanhatton by night" truly lives up to its name! Take a taxi up the mountain around 7 PM to Santai Pavilion for the best view. The driver warned us there might not be any cars coming down, which was a bit scary, but actually, there are ride-hailing services up there dropping off passengers and waiting for fares. If all else fails, people living up there will even offer rides for 10 RMB per person. So, don't worry, you can enjoy your trip! 4️⃣ Personally, I don't think you need to specifically go to Zhengning Road Snack Street. It's a very commercialized food street, and the prices seem generally higher than other night markets. #NorthwestChinaIsNotBarren #FoodGuide #HalalFood #MustVisitNorthwestChina #LanzhouFood #LanzhouTravelGuide #LanzhouRamen #TwoDaysInLanzhou #TwoDayOneNightTravelGuide #LanzhouLanzhou
Anyone who understands?! Before going to Lanzhou, I thought it was just about beef noodles, but after arriving, I was immediately bombarded with recommendations for the entire Northwest treasure trove! ✨ 📍A Guide for Everyone: 1. Gansu Provincial Museum: Book your tickets 3 days in advance through their official WeChat account! Head straight to the 3rd floor to see the Flying Horse of Gansu – you'll be truly amazed by the aesthetics of the ancients! 🤩 The Wei-Jin murals and bricks are also incredibly interesting; the scenes of ancient people eating rice are so realistic. 2. Yellow River Scenic Route: Don't squeeze onto Zhongshan Bridge! Take the cable car up Baitashan Mountain; the panoramic view of the Yellow River flowing through the city from the top is absolutely stunning! 📸 In the evening, go to the Waterwheel Expo Park to see the sheepskin rafts floating on the river – it's incredibly atmospheric. 3. Lanshan Night View: Even better than Baitashan Mountain! Take a taxi halfway up the mountain, and upon reaching the summit, the breathtaking night view of Lanzhou is stunning, like stars scattered across the ground! 🌟 😋 Local Hidden Gems: - Mogouyan Beef Noodles: Start your day with the first pot of broth! The secret code is "Meat and egg double, lots of chili!" The chili is so fragrant you'll stomp your feet, but it's not spicy at all! 🌶️ - Hu's Steamed Buns: The beef buns are soft and juicy; vinegar and chili oil are the perfect way to enjoy them, and a bowl of spicy soup is the perfect accompaniment. - Nanguan Night Market: Don't go to Zhengning Road! Here, you can eat your fill for 20 yuan. The sweet fermented rice milk tea and liangpi (cold skin noodles) are must-try items! ✅ 💡 Tips to Avoid: 1. Order "beef noodles," not "ramen," or you'll instantly sound like a tourist. 2. Choose accommodation in Chengguan District; it's convenient to go anywhere near Zhangye Road. 3. You absolutely must try Sanpaotai tea! Sipping tea while gazing at the Yellow River is so chill! Lanzhou's romance is hidden in the Yellow River breeze and the aroma of carbs; once you visit, you'll never forget it. 🌊 #LanzhouTourism #HowToPlayInLanzhou

[One] Hand-pulled Noodles Chuntai Hand-pulled Noodles Hand-pulled mutton | Minimum order 1 jin (500g). Some pieces were surprisingly fatty and had a strong mutton flavor; I wonder if it was because we arrived late. Stir-fried veal (1 jin) beef + potato noodles, savory, slightly spicy, and cumin flavor. The slices weren't thick, and the noodles were soft and chewy, like rice noodles. Cold scallion salad | All ingredients tasted normal, refreshing and not greasy, a must-have for hand-pulled noodles. Overall, slightly below expectations; those with a lighter palate might find it a bit salty. Guofu Yipin I prefer this hand-pulled noodle place; it's the perfect hand-pulled noodle in my mind. [Two] Beef Noodles Zhang Youde Beef Noodles I rushed over before they closed at 3 pm. The thin noodles were chewy and delicious! The chili oil was incredibly fragrant. [Three] Steamed Buns Hu Jia Steamed Buns Carrot and beef buns | Minimum order 5. Very home-style flavor, the dough was well-risen. 100g with chili oil, a delicious bonus! Can be eaten with beef noodle soup for breakfast. [Good Job][Sob]
