The front of Xueyu Restaurant is not big, and you have to go to the second floor to eat. This layout is very common in Lhasa. The decoration inside the restaurant is very exquisite, and the menu is also in multiple languages. It turns out that in addition to Tibetan and Western food, Nepalese food is also the main product here. I don’t know much about it, so I ordered a few staple foods at random. The taste is good and I can eat enough. Other dishes should be OK. I will try them next time.
The downside is that the store's facade is a little unclear and the signboard is a little old. But the environment inside is very good and the space is particularly large. The dishes are divided into Tibetan, Chinese, Indian & Nepalese cuisine. There are not many varieties, but they all taste great. The grilled lamb chops are the first choice. For those who have not eaten Indian and Nepalese cuisine, I recommend trying their style of naan or the set meal on the iron plate. If you have eaten it, I will not recommend it. In addition, the butter tea and homemade wine are very delicious, you can just have a pot.
I have no idea what to eat, so I looked at the rankings and ordered according to the recommendations. There are Tibetan, Nepalese, and Southeast Asian dishes. The yogurt cake recommended was too sour and not as delicious as I thought. The Tibetan pancakes were a modification of the local Tibetan cuisine, and the Nepalese chicken nuggets and rice were OK. The lighting was dim, the environment was warm and comfortable, and the service was average, not as enthusiastic as the one ranked first.
The restaurant has a nice and unique ambiance, and it's frequented by many foreigners. The food is decent, and some people recommend trying the cakes. However, they also serve ice shavings. It was my first time trying ginger ale, and it tasted quite good.
