After visiting the historic Longxing Temple, it's a 2-3 minute walk to Sister Yunduo's Secret Garden Western Restaurant on Chicheng Road. It's both a Western restaurant and a cafe. When ordering, I asked the waitress why it's called Secret Garden. The waitress explained that the restaurant was meticulously designed by the owner, "Sister Yunduo," herself. Many of the decorations, such as dead branches and old wooden planks, were scavenged and repurposed. After a brief conversation with the waitress, I caught the attention of Sister Yunduo, who was busy serving friends nearby. She came over to greet me and introduced herself as the owner of the restaurant. She recommended that I try their famous Beef Wellington. It's expertly prepared with fillet beef, foie gras, mushroom puree, black truffles, Parma ham, and puff pastry. Although it comes with two sauces, I found the steak so flavorful and delicious that I didn't even need any dipping sauce. I also ordered a vegetable salad, herbed prawns, and grilled wings. The tableware and presentation were all beautiful. After the peak dining period, the guests gradually dispersed. I enjoyed a cup of coffee and a moment of daze. Unfortunately, I was trapped in the restaurant by a heavy rain. "Sister Yunduo" struck up a conversation with me. She's a woman with a story to tell: a mother raising a daughter alone, and having experienced the struggles of starting and re-starting businesses.
