How can you not eat seafood when you come to Shanwei? After taking photos of the sunset at Jincheng Bay, I went to the Laodetou Seafood Port opposite to eat seafood. Abalone and chicken pot, stir-fried king, steamed oysters with vermicelli and garlic, baked stuffed peppers with duck egg yolk, cheese lobster noodles, radish balls, seafood blood curd, white scallop winter melon soup, pineapple fried rice, casserole black pepper baked grouper head... Magong Aquatic Products Wholesale Market Magong Port Aquatic Products Wholesale Market really satisfies my demand for fresh seafood. The seafood sold here is really fresh seafood caught by local fishing boats. They sell whatever they have. The prices of each stall are almost the same, about half of the price of seafood I bought at Hema in Beijing. Even if the processing fee is added, the price is almost one-third of the price of high-quality restaurants in inland cities. It&#39;s really great.
Before going, I read a circle of travel notes. I was still worried about being ripped off. There are posts saying that in Shanwei, Guangdong, the price of speaking Teochew is cheaper than that of speaking Cantonese, and that the price of speaking Cantonese is cheaper than that of speaking Mandarin. I only know Mandarin, so I am obviously at the bottom of the food chain. Fortunately, February is after the Spring Festival and it is not a holiday. There are few people here in the off-season for tourism, and the price is still very affordable. It is estimated that it will be more expensive during holidays.
Here, people buy seafood at the stalls and then go to the processing shop next to them for processing and eating.

✅ Pipi shrimp: I guess there may be a lot of sea-farmed Pipi shrimp here, because there are so many Pipi shrimp for sale, almost every stall sells them. I saw on the Internet that they sell for 35 yuan per catty, and they may be cheaper in the off-season recently. The ones without shrimp paste are only 25 yuan per catty, and the ones with paste are more than 80 yuan more expensive. I didn&#39;t know that the small shop next to me also had the typhoon shelter method to cook. I didn&#39;t buy Pipi shrimp. When I was eating, I saw the people at the next table chewing them and I regretted it.

✅ Grouper (grouper, grouper, tiger grouper, mouse grouper): Shellfish, snails, and shrimps are actually not very filling, and seafood dinners cannot do without fish. The ones sold here are basically from the grouper family, different groupers. Although the price of tiger grouper and mouse grouper is one-fourth of that in high-end restaurants in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, it is still a bit discouraging. Especially before I went there, I didn&#39;t do my homework. Those groupers looked similar, but the prices were very different, so I chose the cheaper one. On the first day, I spent only 65 yuan to buy a grouper weighing more than one pound, and on the second day, I bought a grouper weighing more than two pounds. The big grouper is really delicious, and the meat is really better than the sea bass that I can afford on a daily basis.

✅Sea eel (black eel, white eel): 35-55 per pound. Obviously, I chose the slightly more expensive white eel. The delicate meat is almost as delicious as puffer fish. The only flaw is that I forgot to ask the store to make it lighter. The eel can be directly marinated with black beans and then steamed. It is very good to cover it with ginger, green onion and pepper, and then pour hot oil to make it fragrant. It&rsquo;s a pity that the store put soybean paste, which is a bit smelly, and there is no coriander. It&rsquo;s a bit greasy if you eat too much.

✅Scallops: It&rsquo;s fun to pick fresh scallops one by one in the boss&rsquo;s seafood basin. A poke on the small lid will cover it and spit out a string of water. I bought scallops twice. As expected, the more expensive ones are bigger and tastier. When the shell opens, you can see whether the meat is fat or not. I didn&#39;t learn the art of choosing scallops at that time, but later I knew that I should not only choose live ones but also fat ones. 6-8 scallops only cost 10-15 yuan. The processing fee is 25 yuan per plate. It would be more cost-effective if there were more people. I came with 20 large scallops and it would not cost 50 yuan to make a large plate.

✅Shrimp: There are very few types of shrimps here. I curiously asked the stall owner if they don&#39;t produce shrimps. The guy said that the shrimps in Shanwei are sent to the processing factory for processing and export, and are not sold locally. I only saw mantis shrimp, a kind of super large red shrimp that I can&#39;t name, and Qinglong lobster after two days of strolling in the seafood market. Later I bought lobster, which is cheap and fresh. It is completely different from the 60 and a half barbecue stalls in other seaside tourist cities. Maybe it is also because there are not many tourists here, and the fresh seafood arriving at the port every day can meet the needs of diners. When I went there on the first day, I looked around and found that there were only five or six small blue dragons in the whole market. I caught two of them. I can only describe it in one word: cool.

✅Crab: There are several kinds of crabs, swimming crabs, blue crabs, and red crabs. The boss said that they basically eat crab roe. Since I don&rsquo;t eat crab roe and shrimp roe, I didn&rsquo;t try it.

Buy seafood and give it to the store next door to process a dish for 20-30, and then you can eat. I really want to stay for a few more days and eat all of them.
