I'd thought we could just soak up the local atmosphere, but my friend, a man with a refined sense of style, insisted on going to a leading local barbecue restaurant. We searched online and found Mei Yan BBQ, so we decided to give it a try. Mei Yan BBQ is located downstairs from a residential building, with a wide road right outside and free street parking. There's also a stall on the curb, but it was already a bit chilly outside during the dog days of summer, so we didn't dare venture outside and stayed inside. After eating and drinking a lot for the first time, the three of us didn't have much energy left. We simply ordered lamb skewers, stone eggs, and squid. The lamb skewers were delicious, and the squid was surprisingly fresh. I'd never tried stone eggs before. I was so foolish I couldn't tell the difference between preserved and hairy eggs that I never dared to try them. Only this time did I realize that stone eggs and hairy eggs have nothing to do with each other. They have a uniform color and a chewy texture, more like preserved eggs. They're quite delicious. The service was excellent. The hostess, not only didn't overcharge us as tourists, but was even more welcoming and even gave us sugar-coated tomatoes to go with our drinks. We were all very satisfied. We also tried Yichun's specialty, birch sap craft beer, which was quite delicious and unique. After reading the online reviews, the few negative ones focused on the high prices. As a tourist, I felt it was okay and enjoyed the meal. I can't rule out the psychological benefits of drinking with the right people; after all, drinking with the right people makes everything enjoyable, and you can drink until the end without feeling tired. All things considered, I wouldn't recommend it to locals. Those visiting Tangwang should definitely give it a try. It's not far from the night market, so it's a great place to go for a stroll.
