Sun Moon Bay is relatively uncrowded, and the scenery is stunning—it's truly photogenic. It's right at the entrance to Sun Moon Bay, making it easy to get to after your photoshoot! The restaurant's decor is simple and stylish, bright, spacious, and impeccably clean. Their signature Original Coconut Chicken hot pot is absolutely amazing! Watching the waiter use three freshly harvested Hainanese coconuts to make the hot pot base without adding a drop of water, then add pearl water chestnuts, papaya, coconut meat, and corn, I knew this was going to be something special. Once the Wenchang chicken was cooked, it was incredibly tender and brimming with the sweetness of coconut. Dipping it in their special sauce, every bite seemed to dance on your tongue! They also offer traditional salt-baked chicken, baked using traditional Hainanese salt techniques. The chicken is crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and has just the right amount of salty and savory flavor. The chicken's belly is stuffed with red dates, coconut meat, cordyceps, and more, creating a rich, rich flavor. I absolutely love it! The Hainan Lucky Dish is also a must-try! It features over a dozen Hainan specialties, including crispy surfing fish, Hainan vermicelli noodles, cuttlefish cakes, and jackfruit sticky rice. You can sample all the flavors of Hainan in one go. The surfing fish is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with few bones, making it incredibly delicious. The Hundred Flowers Stuffed Dough Sticks are also incredible. The center of the dough stick is filled with shrimp paste, fried to a crispy golden brown. The chewy and smooth shrimp paste complements the crispy dough stick perfectly. It's a perfect match! My sister and I were in Wanning for the first time!! But due to lack of time, we only visited Shenzhou Peninsula and Sun Moon Bay. Sun Moon Bay is truly photogenic! So many chill shops! Besides enjoying the sea and taking photos, we also had plenty of time to eat. Our first stop was the popular Coconut Chicken! They didn't use any water in the pot, just the water from three fresh coconuts. The chicken was infused with a rich coconut aroma 🥥 🥥 🥥 👍 👍 👍 If it's your first time in Hainan, I recommend ordering their Hainanese specialty wheel. The sheer volume of snacks is so appetizing! You can try all ten of these specialties all at once! The jackfruit rice and coconut rice are especially appealing.
