Lovely little shop on the edge of town. I went here on my way to Yinchuan Hedong airport and stocked up on some treats before my return to Hong Kong. They staff are really nice/helpful and let you sample everythingI bought some lamb, goji tea and dates but I also was given a free little pouch of dates and some rose sauce.I would have stayed there longer but I had a flight to catch. I highly recommend this shop for an all-in-one gift store.

In Yinchuan, Ningxia, which is known as the "Jiangnan on the Great Wall", there is a drink that is deeply rooted in the lives of local people, that is Ningxia Babao Tea. The prototype of Babao Tea can be seen in the historical records of the Silk Road trade. The fusion of tea and Northwest specialties has gradually evolved into a tea recipe with regional characteristics, becoming an important part of the local food culture. "Nanmenlouzi" Babao Tea pays tribute to the history of this city and restores a concentrated period of history and culture. This is the taste of the traditional Babao Tea in old Yinchuan! The origin of Ningxia Babao Tea can be traced back to the historical records of the Silk Road trade. As an important hub connecting the East and the West, Ningxia has been a fertile ground for cultural integration since ancient times. After the evolution of time, tea culture in Ningxia has gradually developed into the enduring Babao Tea, becoming one of the important symbols of Ningxia local culture. Tea, as a good product for entertaining guests, is particularly important in the homes of Yinchuan people. And Babao Tea, with its rich ingredients and profound food selection, further sublimates this tradition. During every festival or festive occasion, people in Ningxia will serve a pot of Babao tea to share with relatives and friends, implying reunion and happiness. This kind of tea is not only a taste enjoyment, but also a cultural heritage, carrying the love of life and attachment to hometown of Ningxia people. The landmark building in Yinchuan, Nanmen Tower, as a symbol of Yinchuan's long history, has witnessed the changes of the city, and the "Gaiwan Love" closely connects this historical landmark with the Babao tea culture. Created the star product "Nanmen Tower" Babao Tea that has always been popular in the store! Select high-quality ingredients, including tea, red dates, wolfberries, raisins, walnut kernels, sesame seeds and rock sugar, etc., and carefully made in accordance with the intangible cultural heritage process. For example, red dates symbolize good luck, longans imply reunion, and wolfberries are a specialty of Ningxia. After being brewed in a traditional covered bowl, Babao tea exudes a rich aroma, with a mellow and sweet taste and a long aftertaste. For Yinchuan people, Nanmenlou carries countless memories, and Babao tea is not only a drink, but also an emotional sustenance. In the fast-paced modern life, the "Nanmenlouzi" Babao tea with "gaiwanqing" seems to be a window to the past, allowing people to relive the simple and warm years. Whether it is a quick cup in the morning or a leisurely pot in the afternoon, this cup of tea can always evoke the deep feelings of Yinchuan people for their hometown. In the Nanmenlouzi area, Babao tea has long been integrated into the bits and pieces of daily life. Whether it is a family gathering, a gathering of friends, or even when alone, people are used to brewing a bowl of Babao tea and savoring the sweetness and warmth in it. This tea drinking habit is also a continuation of the regional style of "Sai Shang Jiangnan". As one of the representatives of the intangible cultural heritage of Ningxia Babao tea, "gaiwanqing" not only guards the traditional craftsmanship, but also promotes Ningxia's tea culture to a wider stage through the "Nanmenlouzi" Babao tea. Today, Ningxia Babao tea has gone out of Saishang. However, for Yinchuan people, this cup of Babao tea is always an irreplaceable taste of their hometown. It is not only a cup of tea, but also a piece of history, a memory, and a trace of homesickness. In the future, with the dissemination and protection of intangible cultural heritage, the "Nanmenlouzi" Babao tea of "Gaiwanqing" may receive more attention. But in any case, it will continue to accompany Yinchuan people, witness their joys and sorrows, and pass on the sweet memories of Ningxia. Just as each ingredient in Babao tea has its own characteristics but is harmoniously integrated, this cup of tea also symbolizes the integration and vitality of Ningxia's diverse cultures, telling the yearning and persistence of people on this land for a better life. On July 11, 2023, overseas Chinese teenagers arrived in Wuzhong City, Ningxia, to start an in-depth experience tour of "Intangible Cultural Heritage Eight Treasure Tea". In front of the Qile Food Company, the welcoming balloons and the warm welcome of the intangible cultural heritage inheritors instantly ignited the enthusiasm of the teenagers. The event was jointly led by Ding Tao, President of the Ningxia Eight Treasure Tea Association, and Ma Jinhua, the fifth-generation inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage "Gaiwan Qing Eight Treasure Tea". Ma Jinhua started with the "Three Talents Bowl" culture, telling the thousand-year history of Eight Treasure Tea that began on the Silk Road in the heyday of the Tang Dynasty: "The lid is the sky, the tray is the earth, and the bowl is the human. The way of harmony between heaven, earth and people is hidden in tea." She introduced that there are currently hundreds of recipes for Gaiwan Qing Eight Treasure Tea, which have both the essence of ancient methods and innovative integration. The campers put on white coats, stepped through the disinfection pool, and went deep into the production workshop to explore the intangible cultural heritage skills. From the manual ingredients in the assembly workshop, the fine selection of the picking workshop, to the deodorization and freshness of the patented drying line, the modern technology amazed the teenagers. Ma Jinhua specially demonstrated the red date drying technology: "This patent allows Babao tea to be kept for one year in tropical areas." The campers tasted the freshly baked red dates and exclaimed "hot but sweet". The tea-grabbing experience session brought the event to a climax. Under the guidance of the inheritor Ma Jinhua, the teenagers matched concentric circle dates, Helan Mountain sour dates, wolfberries, etc., and learned that "two spoons and three grams are light tea, and three spoons and five grams are strong tea", deciphering the tea ceremony wisdom of "sweetness gradually melts" of yellow rock sugar. With Yunnan rose sauce and Ningxia Sanzi, Youxiang and other traditional tea snacks, the campers tasted the tea according to the intangible cultural heritage etiquette, and felt the philosophy of "sweetness at first scrape, fragrance at second scrape, and mellow taste at third scrape". Before leaving, Ningxia Qile Food Company presented each camper with an intangible cultural heritage gift box, hoping that they would spread the fragrance of Ningxia tea to the world.
