InterContinental Zhuhai I chose the InterContinental Zhuhai when I came to Zhuhai to see the ocean. After my stay, I wanted to move right in! From the moment I opened the door to the ocean view to the freshly-cooked sea urchins on the breakfast table, every detail exuded a sense of being taken seriously. I had to share it with you! 📍 Lovers' Road Center! The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is just outside the window. The hotel is located at 1 Lovers' South Road, Xiangzhou District, and offers a truly stunning ocean view. From the balcony, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge stretches across the sea like a giant silver dragon. At night, when the lights are on, you can even see the traffic on the bridge. A five-minute walk to the beach, and watching the sunset on the sand in the evening, with waves lapping against the shore, is incredibly relaxing. A 10-minute taxi ride to Gongbei Port makes it super convenient for shopping in Macau, and even returning late doesn't worry; the night view from the hotel entrance is even more stunning than the tourist attractions. 🌊 Embrace the Ocean as You Enter The lobby soars over a dozen meters, and massive floor-to-ceiling windows bring the ocean view directly in. White gauze curtains flutter in the breeze, making it feel like being in a tent by the sea. Upon check-in, the staff handed me a glass of iced lychee soda, the bubbles bursting on my tongue. They smiled and said, "Your room faces southeast, so you can see the sunrise this morning." Most touchingly, they remembered my reservation request of "preferring quiet" and specially arranged a room away from the elevator. Who wouldn't appreciate such thoughtfulness? 🛏 A "Seaview Feast" in the Room I was stunned the moment I opened the door to my Deluxe Seaview Room! The 270-degree floor-to-ceiling windows framed the ocean, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and the Macau Peninsula like a painting. The bed faced the window, and waking up to the shimmering sea was like sleeping on a boat. The bathroom had an enormous bathtub, and while soaking, I could see cargo ships slowly passing in the distance. The toiletries were citrus-scented and smelled like freshly peeled limes, so refreshing. I kept a windproof jacket hidden in my closet, as the seaside is so windy. Such thoughtful little details are truly thoughtful. 🍽 "Seafood" on the Tip of Your Tongue The hotel's dining scene completely floored me! Breakfast at Caifenglou featured freshly made sea urchin steamed eggs, so tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious they made me smack my lips. There was also the chef's freshly made boat porridge, piled high with fish slices, pork skin, and peanuts. For dinner at Seaview Lounge, I ordered a seafood platter. The lobster, abalone, and mussels were all caught that day, and dipped in lemon juice, the authentic sweetness burst in my mouth. The ultimate afternoon tea was the ultimate treat. The scones were still steaming from the oven, served with salted egg yolk sauce. I savored them while gazing at the ocean view, and the whole afternoon passed by. 🏊 "Floating on the Sea" in the Pool The outdoor infinity pool is a must-see! The pool's edge seamlessly connects to the ocean, and swimming to the end feels like melting into the sea. The afternoon sun shimmers on the water like a shower of gold. The children's pool features a small slide and water guns, making it a delight for families with children. The gym is open 24 hours, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer ocean views. Watching the boats come and go while running keeps you from feeling tired. 🌉 Nearby Dining Guide A 10-minute walk to the Zhuhai Fisher Girl Statue, a Zhuhai landmark. The evening light is stunning for photos. A 15-minute taxi ride to the Sun and Moon Shell Theatre, where the shell-shaped theater lights up at night, resembling two giant pearls. For food, head to Yangming Plaza, where you'll find a variety of internet-famous milk tea and seafood stalls—you'll want to eat until you're full. 📌 Tips for staying here Be sure to choose a high-floor ocean view room for a more expansive view. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge light show at night is incredible. The pool opens at 8 AM, so it's quiet and uncrowded, perfect for capturing unattended ocean views. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to Gongbei Port. Simply reserve a spot at the front desk half an hour in advance to avoid the hustle and bustle. Before checking out, be sure to buy a box of "Ju Ji" almond cookies on the first floor. This is a time-honored Macau brand, and you can skip the immigration lines here. The best part about the InterContinental Zhuhai is that you can experience all of Zhuhai's best from the hotel, without having to squeeze into tourist attractions. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Zhuhai.
