It's in the city center, not too far from the City Hall, about 10 minutes' walk away. The prawn salad was really all prawns, with no vegetables. The fish fillet set also had a lot of prawns, which was delicious.

I booked a table for lunch here, based on a friend's advice, it was busy, worth booking if you can. It's a traditional Danish restaurant, you can open samplers and sandwiches, beer & gin! <br /> <br /> We just had a plate each and we had enough, I had the prawns open sandwich and my friend had the roast beef, both were delicious but the beef was my favourite! Service was good, the waiter helped us with the menu and also told us about other places and places to go in Copenhagen.

After reading this we decided to give it a try when it opened at 11:30. We were lucky to find a table for 2 even though the place was pretty empty. By noon it was full. It's a cozy space with a traditional Danish take on traditional cooking "sandwiches". What a huge variety! My daughter and I wanted to share and she's not a fish fan so I thought maybe we would be limited in our choices. Not so! Huge menu. Paired with beer and soju it was the best meal of our trip. Our server (a lovely funny woman) was knowledgeable, helpful and made our experience one to remember on our trip. Be sure to book ahead if you want to ensure a table.

Restaurant Shonnemann, located near the Norreport subway station in Copenhagen, is a highly visited Danish restaurant. Prices in Northern Europe are extremely expensive, but for the sake of experience, you have to grit your teeth and make a reservation to avoid disappointment. I was smart and chose to visit during lunch because the price is much lower. The fresh shrimp open sandwich and the smoked salmon plate, served on a blue and white porcelain plate, looked delicious!

My Danish wife and I had a traditional Danish lunch of various herring and meat sandwiches and cheeses. All delicious! These were accompanied by some Danish brews and a few toasts with Aalborg brandy. The service could not have been friendlier. For those new to Danish lunch and customs, they freely shared how to enjoy each dish. This was our first visit to this Copenhagen restaurant, but it will be on our agenda for all future visits to our favorite city in Europe. It is popular with locals and tourists, so be sure to book in advance.

Very busy restaurant. Definitely need to book (even for a Monday lunchtime). You will find amazing traditional Danish food and an extensive menu. There is so much choice but the waiter was very helpful and the recommendations were a bit overwhelming (herring, beef pate and fried plaice)! We were a bit rushed due to the 2 hour time frame but since the service was fast it was not really a problem. A "must go" to experience a real Danish deal in a beautiful setting!
