乐天的静I am so disappointed as I type this review. As a Dominican I had high expectations of visiting this place. It is sad knowing this place has potential, somehow the staff seem to have been trained to ignore customers or be rude. After waiting for several minutes, someone dropped off the menu, we placed an order and got our food. I was alone chatting while two servers dropped off the food, no one came to check after the food dropped off, the glasses were empty and no one offered new drinks. I made eye contact with the two servers who were chatting behind the table and no one was looking at us. Finally I asked for a check with the service charge attached... shame. We were not the only ones who were completely ignored. I am concerned about tourists coming to this place and encountering horrible service from Dominican servers when Dominicans are naturally very friendly and helpful. It is ironic that they have a sign outside the restaurant that reads "If you come to Santo Domingo and have not visited Japan, you have not had the opportunity to know the Dominican Republic". I sincerely hope they can find a way to teach their staff to behave like true Dominicans, helpful, fun, friendly and happy. It's a shame that many people travel to the Dominican Republic and have a bad experience from a place that offers a Dominican experience.
