I still had a brunch here, the price/performance ratio was quite high.
We ate breakfast here recently. Food, service and location are really good. Nice are to sit outside too and watch the world go by!
Café Heider is right by the rather Disneylqnd Nauener Tor in the heart of Potsdam. It is warm, friendly, relaxing place to have a meal and a drink. The menu is reasonably varied and offers some local dishes as well as the more tried and tested German staples. The prices are good too: not the cheapest but very good value. I tried a traditional potato dish, which while tasty and filling was not the most exciting! I still enjoyed it! I would definitely recommend Café Heider. It is a lovely place to while away an evening either with a book or friends or both. The location is lovely.
What a good start for walking in the streets, Dutch style , and having s lunch or breakfast outside in the sun under the large umbrellas . Good service, fresh juices and good coffee !
We've been for breakfast twice on the weekend with a group of 8. The bread rolls and slices of bread that come with most of the breakfasts were fresh and crispy and the offered breakfasts are also nice. On the first day it took quite a while for all of us to get our breakfast and my boyfriend did not get his at all as they forgot it. When we reminded them it took them about 15 minutes to arrange the ordered plate of cheeses so that most of us had halfway munched through their breakfast when he was served his. Also my orange juice was off (fermented) which did not make a good impression. However, I got a new one without debate. Also the service was very awkward. 3-4 people waited our table and they just randomly put the orders in front of people without asking if it is the right one - which in a few cases it wasn't. They barely spoke to us and made a very chaotic impression (me and my family are German so language was not an issue). The wait for the food was ok on the second day but the personnel still a bit awkward.
