358***33This western fast food restaurant is located in Shambles, York, not far from York Minster. The restaurant is small and the decoration is simple. There are only a few tables inside, so the restaurant encourages take-out, which seems to be cheaper than eating in. There are not many choices here. The best is the shredded pork sandwich. The bread outside is very soft, and the meat inside is tender and juicy, and the taste is delicious. Of course, the salad is also worth recommending.

TheForkUserThe food was piping hot & delicious & really well priced on a 2 or 3 course offer. The staff were lovely & helpful. It’s was a busy Sunday lunchtime but we didn’t feel squeezed in to the next table.

TheForkUserVery impressed. I only made the booking as i bought a brand new Car and wanted to go for an hour drive. Lets just say i will be visiting again in the very near future. The eating area behind with the sun shining down and the most tasteful food served made it very memorable.

TheForkUserExcellent pub, obviously loved by the locals who booked it out - so make sure you have a reservation. 6.30 seems to be when they all flock in. Our table was for 7pm so we ended up having a bit of a wait and to make an alternative choice for mains as ours was sold out. Well kept cellar - excellent beers and plenty of cocktails available. Will return when next in York

TheForkUserReally enjoyed our Sunday lunch the 2 generous slices of beef melted in the mouth, carrots,peas, mash potato, roasters, cauliflower cheese, semi crisped kale (not like crispy sea weed ) and a delicious gravy absolutely gorgeous, oh had a very nice prawn cocktail to start, a great pint and an Irish coffee to finish , staff attentive friendly no fuss and very prompt service definitely recommend , I normally prefer the wife’s Sunday roast , but will make a point of stopping here again ????(even this review doesn’t do it justice)
