LA TERRASSE

A travelogue of the island owner&#39;s 116-country global tour: Leaving the capital of Madagascar and heading for the jungle. This day&#39;s itinerary has two stops: Parc Exotique and Andasibe National Forest Reserve. The driver only speaks French, and his English is at the same level as my French ~ hahahaha, so I brought a translator.

Other Madagascar-specific animals in Parc Exotique: geckos, lizards, snakes, rainforest frogs... I will share these next time, and today I will mainly talk about Andasibe.

After arriving in Andasibe, I first found a hotel to stay in. The name of the hotel is Vakona Forest Lodge. It is a very beautiful hotel with a large area. The guest rooms are all small villas. January and February are the off-season, and it only costs about 100 US dollars per night. If you go in December, it will be more expensive~

There are many hotels and inns in the Andasibe Forest Reserve that are built directly in the forest. There are all kinds of flowers and plants in front of and behind the houses. The door of the island owner&#39;s room is also full of flowers and fragrance~ The lobby and restaurant of the hotel are combined into one. It is the largest one by the lake. After a simple pizza and juice, we set off for two field observation points near the hotel.

The exploration of the Andasibe Forest Reserve was left for the next morning~ So the itinerary for that afternoon was Lemur Island and Crocodile Valley.

The first stop is to take a boat to reach Lemur Island. Lemurs don&rsquo;t like water, can&rsquo;t swim, and lemurs don&rsquo;t drink water. All the water they need comes from food.

There are four types of lemurs on Lemur Island: black and white panda lemurs, brown lemurs and gray lemurs that look very similar, and bamboo lemurs that are extremely cute.

The next morning, I heard the calls of various animals in the forest. Early in the morning, it was the time when animals came out to look for food. I hurriedly had breakfast and set off to enter the Andasibe National Forest Reserve before 7 o&#39;clock.

When Madagascar Island separated from the African continent, the primates on the island took a completely different evolutionary path from the African continent. Andasibe National Nature Reserve is one of the five earliest nature reserves established in Madagascar. The vegetation of the reserve is mainly tropical rainforest and rich in species. There are as many as 11 species of lemurs living in this reserve. The most famous one is the largest short-tailed lemur in existence.

The reserve has a variety of species, including some rare and unique insects, birds and amphibians and reptiles. There are also many wild orchids growing here, which are equally fascinating.
