The staff were really nice. They remembered to leave tomatoes off both my main and salad, which was thoughtful. Food was pretty good.

Love the vibe here. It's got that proper pub feel, warm and lived-in. The staff were just lovely, made us feel right at home.

The vegetarian tasting menu was a real highlight. Portions were generous, which I appreciate. The roasted beetroot with goat's cheese was particularly good – earthy and creamy. The mushroom risotto had a deep, savoury flavour. A solid meal focused on the food.

Lovely spot with a nice view. The food is decent pub grub, pretty wholesome. Service was friendly enough. A solid choice for a casual meal.

Owner's super nice. Chatted with us for a bit, made us feel right at home. That kind of personal touch is rare.

The fish cakes were a solid choice. Made with local ingredients, you can tell it's homemade. Gets packed at lunch though, had to wait a bit for a table. Good for a quick bite if you time it right.

A decent campsite with nice views of the countryside. It's well-located for walks into Matlock and Matlock Bath, which was pretty good. The pitches were fine, though a bit close together.

Had a couple of meals here. The food was tasty and decent value. But the best part was how welcome they made our dog feel. A real plus.

The full English was spot on - quality ingredients and not greasy. What really made it was the house bloody mary they suggested. A bit of a wait for a table, but the drink pairing was thoughtful. Solid, hearty feed.

A very clean and organised place, which I always appreciate. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, and the whole meal felt smooth from start to finish. Just a really comfortable spot for a quiet lunch.

Been here a few times. Staff are nice, they remember you. Brought water for our dog without asking, which is handy. Makes it easy to pop in.

Came in for the fish and chips. The batter was light and crispy, and the fish was really fresh. Just a solid, no-fuss meal. Enjoyed it.

A bit tricky to find down that little side street, but glad we did. The welcome was genuinely warm, which made all the difference. Felt like a proper neighbourhood spot.

Stopped in on a hot afternoon. The front yard provided a nice shady spot. Tried a couple of the local ales on offer, particularly the Moot Ales from Matlock. Solid choice for a quick, cool drink.

Service was really on point with my nut allergy. They checked everything without making a fuss, which is a relief when you're eating out. Felt looked after, no stress.

Second time here on a Wednesday. It was quiet. The chicken was tasty and good quality, but the portion felt a bit small for the price.

The full English breakfast was spot on. The black pudding had that rich, iron-y depth, the bacon was crisp, and the eggs were just runny enough. They kept up with a big table without the food sitting under lamps. Solid.

Found this spot by the canal. Staff were really friendly, prices fair. Got a quick sandwich and coffee. Perfect for a bite before a walk. 👍

Nice spot for a sunny afternoon pint. Sat out front watching the world go by. They had a guy playing acoustic guitar later on, which was a nice surprise. The back area by the little pond is quieter if that's more your thing.

Came for a birthday dinner. They brought out a small cake with a card, which was a nice surprise. Honestly, the gesture was lovely, but the main courses themselves felt a bit small for the price you pay.

The food is simple but done right. The roast chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy inside with a crisp skin. Prices are fair for what you get.

Fish and chips were spot on. Crispy batter, proper chips. Sat by the window on a rainy afternoon. Just what I needed. Staff were friendly too.

Been coming here for years. The whopper burger and homemade chips are still solid, portions are big. Reminds me of the old days. Gets the job done.

We stayed on the campsite and had dinner at the pub. The food was all homemade, which I really appreciate. You could taste the freshness in the vegetables, they were crisp and vibrant. A nice, simple meal after a long day.

The curry sauce here is honestly the best I've had with fish and chips. It's so good we ended up ordering extra just for dipping our chips. Made sharing a plate way more fun.

Been coming here for years, and the cozy pub vibe is what keeps me coming back. It's just the right spot to unwind after a long day. The atmosphere is consistently relaxed, never feels rushed.
