Restaurant Vermeer

Vermeer, a popular Michelin one-star restaurant in the city, was booked early. When I booked on the official website, I saw the beautiful design and fonts and had high expectations. In the end, it was the most disappointing meal. What the hell! It was sour, salty and weird. The ingredients didn't match. For example, pickled radish and beetroot with caviar and cream sauce, lobster with cucumber and honey pear with mayonnaise, every dish was very salty. The French are the best at making calf's sweetbreads, and it was my first time to eat roe deer. And the service was so bad that it could be described as rude. This is an authentic Dutch restaurant that reflects the Dutch style everywhere. The dishes change according to the seasons and the chef is very creative.

This is the second time we went to this restaurant in Amsterdam. Our luggage was delayed and we decided to have the dinner in the city town rather than waiting for the luggage in the airport. The staff is attentive and the restaurant environment is cosy. The food all come from Netherlands and the dishes are beautifully colored and prepared. They are all excellent, although the proportion is not big.

From the moment we stepped in the door we wondered why Restaurant Vermeer had no stars. Every member of the team was welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was beautifully presented, tasty and creative. The wine selection was extensive. Service carried the day/evening. We’ll be back for sure.

Lovely place with great food !, for sure very recommended , the food is amazing , great flavors and mixed textures. The staff is friendly and kind, all details here have been taken care off .
