After the renovation a world of difference in food and experience. The well-known Fletcher menu and the excellent quality.
We had a nice evening and in a quiet environment. Despite it being the first evening after 7.5 months, so it took some getting used to, the service and food were great!
Nice location. However, the food was just below average. Unimaginative Chef’s choice starter: a few small slices of watermelon with Parma ham on some lettuce and some dressing over it. The carpaccio was also simple. The main course was also not special and the dessert could have been made at home: a lava cake in the microwave, a tuft of cheap whipped cream and a scoop of mango ice cream. We will not eat here again.
Last week we had dinner at De Borken, the restaurant of the eponymous Fletcher hotel in Lhee. A rustic village in Drenthe with a rich farming life. This farming history also determines the decoration and atmosphere description of the restaurant. We were welcomed hospitably, after that it quickly became too busy and there was no time for a personal touch at the table. The food itself was good but that was all that was said. The ordered warm apple pie for coffee was served cold after the coffee had been consumed. Too bad.
Excellent service by friendly staff. Unfortunately overcooked dry tuna as a starter and instead of thinly sliced I had rectangular cubes. The redfish on the other hand was very tasty and could have been cooked. Unfortunately again with overcooked vegetables and dry potato wedges. Nice quiet location.
