Lofoten Islands: A romantic encounter with extreme nature

When the plane slowly landed at Bod&oslash; Airport, my trip to Lofoten officially kicked off. When I got on the ferry, I could see the endless deep blue sea. The Lofoten Islands in the distance were like sleeping giants, with their outlines looming in the mist, which was fascinating.

The first stop was Reine, known as the &quot;most beautiful fishing village in Norway&quot;. When I stepped on this land, the reddish-brown rorbu wooden houses instantly caught my eye. They are scattered along the fjord, and they contrast with the towering Reinbringen Mountain behind them. I couldn&#39;t wait to walk along the wooden plank road, and the wooden planks under my feet made a &quot;creaking&quot; sound, as if telling the ancient story here. In the evening, the sunset covered the entire fishing village with a layer of golden gauze, the sea surface was sparkling, and the silhouettes of fishing boats swayed gently with the waves. I sat on the shore, quietly enjoying this picturesque scenery, and my heart was extremely peaceful.

In order to overlook the whole view of Reine, I plucked up the courage to challenge the Reinbringen Mountain in the morning of the next day. More than 1,600 nearly vertical steps are a great test of physical strength. But every step up, the scenery in front of me becomes more and more shocking. When I finally arrived at the observation deck at an altitude of 440 meters, I was completely conquered by the scene in front of me: the emerald fjord wrapped around the mountains like a ribbon, and the red-roofed wooden houses dotted in between, like gems scattered in the world, and the sea in the distance merged with the sky, and it was difficult to tell where the sea was and where the sky was.
