We went on a quiet Sunday night, so the place wasn’t packed. We were greeted cordially and led to our reserved table. Very good service with good English spoken - attentive and cheerful. Whoever is buying the meat knows what they are doing! Quality was top notch. Our „Cowboy“ Steak came to cook on the hot stone and was skilfully pared and prepared / cut at the table, ready to cook. Nice wine list, unfortunately I had to drive, so we split a half bottle of a decent Vinho Verde between us. There is a good collection of reds to go with the steak, if desired. While the beef was spectacular, the sautéed mushroom side was nice but slightly oversalted for our taste (but then again everything seems salty in Portugal ;) The fries and salad (included sides with the steak) were perfectly adequate, leaving the focus on the really excellent steak. Table was well appointed, extra points for the LaGuiole steak knives. Cutlery, plates and glassware perfectly clean - adding to a well-rounded dining experience - wouldn’t expect this quality in a random place like Figueira. Only letdown (being really picky here) - this is an inside only experience, no tables outside. The dining room was spotlessly clean - the lighting is quite harsh, though. At least, you definitely can see what you’re eating (with the precision lighting of an operating table ;) )Price was really good value for the money - we would definitely return!A lot of credit goes to our Brazilian table host, he knows how to spin a good story but doesn’t forget the good table service while chatting! Can recommend wholeheartedly.
Delicious big steak on a stone grill! Very unique concept. Very friendly staff and nice location. Good food and customer is king; what else do you want!
The quality of our Tomahauk steak was very good. We did not realize we had to cook it though. This is not what I consider going out to eat dinner. The bread basket had only one piece of fresh bread, the other three were dry and I believe old. The wait staff was very good. It helped having someone who sopoke English fluently,
Steak was great - one of our starters was still frozen in the centre but this was the only issue during the meal - the other food was good quality and great value. Lovely service.
