I come here every time I visit Spain when I can, and that’s about once or twice a year. The staff is excellent and has been there for years. The suckling pig, roasted lamb shoulder, and fish in salt are all amazing dishes. A lot of people go to Los Abanicos. I prefer El Guarda. Seek it out. It’s just down the road.

This is our third time eating here. Los Abanicos seems to get all the attention, but I’ve been to both and El Guardo is just as good if not better and with a better ambiance for my taste. Peaceful, pretty and spacious. We’ll be back. Get the dorado in salt if you can tear yourself away from the suckling pig.
Dinner was delightful! That atmosphere was perfect in the small quiet plaza.The leg of lamb and chateaubriand were particularly fantastic! We had a large group that they accommodated well, and everyone enjoyed their meal. It is well worth the trip up the mountain!
