Ristorante Pizzeria Balmelli

We have been in Lugano/Montagnola for the past ten days and this was our best meal and dinner experience. The restaurant is in a residential area and is tastefully decorated with relaxing dinner jazz playing. Everything we ordered was so good. Service was perfect.

Nice place to visit on a Sunday afternoon when most of the places are closed. You can make an online reservation, which is a great option. Very nice menu with delicious pasta. We loved the interior, too.

A very pleasant surprise. Lovely restaurant, simple and attractive. Food delicious, very well prepared. Never had better duck anywhere. Service superb. Friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient. Timely with every course. I highly recommend.

A hidden gem. We booked a table for 7 at the last minute and arrived 30 min later. Service was wonderful and helpful. Main languages spoken (Italian, French, German, English). The two Italian chefs prepared beautiful and tasty food which was a pleasure to eat. Each course complimented the next. The Maitre d's selection of wine was perfectly suited for the meal. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality of food and level of service. Have put Balmelli on my list of restaurants to visit again when next in Lugano.

Lovely restaurant with excellent service and great food. All components were home-made with love and creativity, resulting in delicious, modern and honest Swiss-Italian cuisine.
