We were visiting Bristol for a weekend away and thought we would book the pub to watch the rugby game. As many other pubs around required booking. I checked the website which confirmed that you could book to watch the Lion’s game which started at 11am. The website showed 10:45 that you could book from, which provided the illusion that the pub would be open to facilitate this booking time. I understand that the pub advertised the opening time at 12 however, would allow bookings as early as 11am. We booked a table for 11am and turned up at 10:30am. We understood that this was early so we waited outside for 30 minutes. During this time other people turned up hoping to watch the game, expecting it to be open to facilitate the game. They discuss the good reviews of this pub and we were excited to go in. Sadly the pub did not open, despite having booked a table and advertised that it would be open. Very disappointing. Luckily just up the road was a very accommodating sports bar which had amply amount of space for us to enjoy. Morale of the review, don’t advertise if you have no intention of opening.
