Really enjoyed the evening with old friends and the food was wonderful. Personally, it was great to have non gluten items that really were
The food was as good as any I have eaten with each course being as good as the next. The evening was made complete by the quality of the staff with attention to detail and with a good balance of engaging with us without being over friendly. Lottie deserves our especial thanks. We even came away with a painting to remind us of a memorable evening.
My wife and I had the tasting menu for lunch. I take the view that at least 75% of the courses should have a wow, especially when the restaurant is Michelin listed. I'd say Forelles hit 100% for us. The fusion of the food itself, the sauces and the herbs/spices were sumptuous. Right up there with the best tasting menu meals I've had, From the canapes, which were amazing, to the second dessert, dark chocolate, we were wowed!Further comments:Service was spot on - courteous and friendly.Wine list extensive and there were many reasonably priced wines, as in £40 and under.Ambience is graceful and the views over the hotel lawn and neighbouring fields was beautiful.Price without alcohol was £89 per person, which for a restaurant like Forelles is fair. They do also have a 2 or 3 course menu at I think £65 for 3 courses or £51 for two, and a special lunch menu which is I think under £30 for 3 courses.A very good option for foodies just outside Ludlow. Do yourself a favour and go.,
Great find. Peaceful atmosphere, lovely views from the conservatory and delicious food which was a little different from standard afternoon tea. Definitely recommend for that special celebration.
Could not fault the food or service, just had trouble with the cutlery!!! Fork weight all wrong and the knife could not cut butter, let alone the beef I had. Not good.
