The service was incredible. My wife has specific dietary needs and they made her a special batch. All the time the staff were attentive, polite and friendly. The atmosphere was first class and some of the locals helped us by reccomending places to visit. All in all a great lunchtime experience.

We had delicious lunch here with friends. I had the duck special with stoemp and cabbage - fantastic! My friend had the cod with haddock chowder, also very delicious. Great service too.

We had a lovely lunch here yesterday, we both had the meatballs in cherry beer sauce which were delicious. Service friendly and speedy. We tried several types of beer, all fantastic. Served as they are in Belgian as this is a specialist bar. If you want cheap lager there are plenty of other places in Norwich you can go! Will return when back in Norwich.

Excellent lunch

This place is a rip-off. I visited this establishment in July 2025.   As the weather was hot, we needed to cool down with some drinks. Since the place was open, we decided to stop in for refreshments. We assumed our server was the manager, so we asked for half a lager shandy and half a lager.  To our surprise, the glasses were not fully filled and looked only half full. When we went to pay with cash, handing over a ten-pound note, we were astonished to find that this was the total cost of the two drinks. Nowhere on any boards did we see lagers listed at ten pounds a pint, especially since the shandy contained half the amount of lager.  When we questioned the cost, we were told that it was imported lager, which justified the price. However, we felt that his attitude towards us as customers was unacceptable. To charge what he wanted and not even ring the money into the till made us suspicious that it was a scam.  I would never recommend this pub to anyone. Since it is listed in a tour guide as a stop for refreshments, we will inform them of the tactics this pub uses on tourists.

Stay clear, if you don&apos;t want to be scammed.
