DominicSunset seafood dinner in the Gulf of Mexico
Before leaving Key West, we went to Half Shell Raw Bar for a big dinner. This is the only restaurant in Key West that has its own fish market and has always been a favorite of captains and local residents. The seafood here - oysters, scallops, clams, shrimps and various fish whose names I can't recognize - were all caught a few hours ago. Outside the window is the coastal trail and the port. If you are not in a hurry to take a boat to Fort Myers, you can watch the sunset while eating dinner🌅

The most famous island in the Florida Keys is Key West, the southernmost city in the United States and the southernmost end of US Highway 1. From 1763 to 1821, there were almost no permanent residents in the Florida Keys. Cubans and Bahamians came here mainly for fishing, catching turtles, cutting hardwood timber, etc. Smugglers also appeared here. After March 1822, Americans began to operate here. Now a large number of wooden historical buildings are preserved, which is very pleasing. The Custom House is now open to the public as the Key West Art & Historical Society, which is worth a visit. Lunch at Half Shell Raw Bar near the port. This is the last seafood meal after leaving Key West. It is a restaurant where you can enjoy the sea view while dining. The prawns are very fresh and delicious.
