Amazing as always. The staff excel on every visit making us feel very welcome and serving delicious food

The starter and dessert were very good but the main course - both my wife and I had the halibut - was disappointing!  It was very salty and over cooked/dry!  When we complained about this we were offered desserts on the house, which was a nice gesture.Whilst enjoying a glass of prosecco in the bar before dinner we felt rather abandoned, as staff were passing us by and we weren&#39;t offered a menu to peruse.When booking I mentioned that it was my wife&#39;s birthday but there was no recognition of this, which was disappointing.

The food was absolutely spectacular, the best we have ever had in any Yorkshire restaurant and we have tried a few. Sublime tastes and flavours were served as tiny miracles of dishes&mdash;variable from dish to dish, all original and linked to the terroir. The wine pairing was good but unequal: two sweet wines were correct, Valpolicella was a failure but we were immediately offered an honest Bordeaux as a replacement, and the rest were exquisite. The service was top quality: friendly, competent, and efficient. Independently of our fantastic experience at Shaun Rankin, our thanks also go to the staff of Grantley Hall who helped us way and beyond in our little mishap that forced us to spend the entire following day in the hotel lobby.

This restaurant was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. We had a lovely welcome at the door and we&rsquo;re seen quickly by our excellent server. Food was absolutely delicious
