We ate upstairs here on the recommendation of a friend, and I&#39;m so glad we did. All of our food was exceptional. I normally don&#39;t like pork chops and I pretty much devoured the one we got. The drinks were great too.

Root Restaurant is a high-end western restaurant. The environment and decoration of this restaurant is really high-end. What impressed me most is the wine cabinet that takes up an entire wall in the restaurant. It is so shocking.

A Western-style restaurant with a very nice environment. The main selling point here is its steak. The steak here is delicious and fresh. It is very good and worth a try.

The familiar-looking drip brewing vessels are in a row behind the bar. Imagine the process of drip coffee. Here, distilled liquors such as gin and whiskey are used instead of water, and various herbs or other aromatic ingredients are used instead of coffee powder. The distilled liquor drips slowly through the herbs/aromatic ingredients to extract their flavors.
The wine list is posted on the book. Because the light in the tavern is too dim, we have to turn on a small light to read. The three of us had three rounds in total:
- Chipotle margarita: An interesting one in flavor, especially for Hu Zi. Mexican mezcal, smoked chili sauce, orange liqueur and lime are blended together, and a layer of salt is applied to the rim of the cup. When you take a sip, you first get a salty and spicy impact, followed by a double hit of sour and spicy, which is very exciting.
- Oak drip whiskey sour: A smooth whiskey sour. The special thing is that the bourbon whiskey extracts the flavor of oak, and then puts it in a glass cover and smokes it with oak for a while, which gives the whiskey sour an extra layer of aroma and flavor. My friends love this one the most.
- Fennel mulata: A strong anise flavor, with a prominent sweetness and a light alcohol feel.
- French fizz: Gin extracts the flavor of chamomile, blends the sourness of lemon and the sweetness of honey, and adds a little bubbling from champagne. It is a relatively low-key and refreshing one.

What a great restaurant. Service was terrific as was the food. I was with a coworker and we both started with the gumbo. Awesome.

I&rsquo;ll start by saying our waiter was outstanding. He knew the menu in and out and did everything he could to make us happy. I&rsquo;m sorry I forgot his name. 

The pork belly was the best pork belly I&rsquo;ve ever had. Incredible.
