Heshun Ancient Town is located southwest of Tengchong city, a borderland ancient town with over 600 years of history. Originally settled by military households guarding the frontier, the village was named "Heshun" (meaning "river follows") due to a small river encircling it. Later, locals refined the name to its current form, inspired by the phrase "scholars harmonious, people compliant." As Yunnan's renowned hometown of overseas Chinese and a key caravan hub on the Southwest Silk Road, generations of ancestors traveled to Myanmar for trade—their descendants now spread across more than ten countries and regions. Here, traditional central plains family values, borderland customs, and Western influences brought back from Southeast Asia blend seamlessly in the alleyways, making the entire town resemble an open-air museum of Sino-Western architectural fusion. The ancient town rises gradually along the mountain facing the flatland, with ancestral halls, memorial archways, and old residences from the Ming and Qing dynasties spreading across the slopes. Clan ancestral halls like the Cun and Liu family halls line the alleys—the Liu ancestral hall stands by a stream, housing a teahouse where visitors can sit and enjoy hot tea brewed with Longtan spring water and chestnut charcoal fire. Tengchong Beihai Wetland National AAAA-level attraction is located 12.5km northeast of Tengchong City, Yunnan Province. It is the only volcanic barrier lake floating carpet wetland in China. The attraction is surrounded by mountains. It is a subtropical volcanic rock barrier lake formed by the eruption of Cenozoic volcanoes 600,000 years ago. The nutrient-rich volcanic ash has nurtured a large area of meadows floating on the water, forming a colorful giant floating carpet on the water. The wetland is famous for its biodiversity due to its three-dimensional ecosystem composed of alpine forests, floating carpets on the water surface and barrier lakes. It is known as the "Kidney of the Earth" and "Gene Bank of Wetland Species". More than 300 years ago, Xu Xiake, a traveler in the Ming Dynasty, visited here in person. In his "Yunnan Travel Diary", he left a description of the magical landscape of Beihai Wetland: "The lake is as large as a thousand acres, with green weeds in the middle, and the bottom is like floating grass. There are also streams running through it, but they cannot rise." The altitude here is 1,750 meters, with negative oxygen ions as high as 16,000/cubic centimeter, and PM2.5 less than 10 all year round. It is a world-recognized longevity and livable altitude zone. It is a good place for you to escape the heat and cold, enjoy beautiful scenery and fresh oxygen, and have a good vacation. Visitors can hike to the crater and enjoy panoramic views of vast lava flows and platforms from the summit of Dakongshan. Alternatively, they can take a hot air balloon ride or a powered delta wing for an aerial view of the volcanoes. Nearby, Xiaokongshan of Tengchong Volcanic and Geothermal National Geopark is equally spectacular with its perfectly round crater. Walking around the crater symbolizes "a turn of good fortune." Upon entering the attraction's main gate, you'll find the Tengchong Volcanic Geology Museum on your right. This museum focuses on volcanic geology education, showcasing the distribution of interstellar, global, and Tengchong volcanoes through interactive exhibits, specimen displays, and multimedia presentations. At the foot of Xiaokong Mountain, there's also a Volcanic Science Experience Center – an educational theme park that combines scientific knowledge with entertainment activities. The hot air balloon ride club may close early or suspend operations due to weather or air currents. Those with a fear of heights or special conditions are not recommended to participate. Separate bookings are required for hot air balloon rides, powered trikes, and horseback riding.

Ginkgo Village is located in Gudong Town, Tengchong City. Originally named Jiangdong Village, it was renamed for the natural, continuous stretches of ancient ginkgo forest within the village. Tens of thousands of ginkgo trees are distributed here, including over a thousand ancient ginkgo trees that are more than a century old. The "Ginkgo King" in the village is over 1,300 years old, making this a concentrated and ancient ginkgo community in Yunnan. The village's distinctive view is that "the village is in the forest, and the forest is in the village"—residences are scattered among the ginkgo forest, with ancient trees of all sizes surrounding the houses. Low walls built of volcanic stone wind along both sides of the village roads, and farmhouses with gray tiles and red walls complement the golden ginkgo. Every year from mid-November to early December is the peak season when the ginkgo turns yellow. Ginkgo leaves drift down with the wind, covering the village roads, alleys, and farm courtyards, making the entire village look like a golden world. When shrouded in thin morning mist, the veins of the backlit ginkgo leaves are clearly visible; in the evening when the setting sun slants across, cooking smoke and fallen leaves interweave, making it very suitable for photography. In the village, you can also experience intangible cultural heritage such as oil-paper umbrella making and shadow puppetry, and taste the specialty ginkgo banquet with ginkgo used in dishes. When visiting, it is worth walking more through the village's small alleys—many ancient ginkgo trees are hidden by the courtyard walls of local households, and it is easy to miss them if you only walk along the main road.
