A full-day trip from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island with lunch is a great way to explore this precious natural site. The drive from the city to the ferry departing from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw takes about 1.5 hours, and the ferry ride takes about 30 minutes. On the island, you can visit a sea lion beach, the extraordinary rock formations of Flinders Chase National Park, Admiral's Arch, and a zoo with kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and other Australian wildlife. Will, our driver and guide, who knows the island like the back of his hand, was simply fantastic! The trip was also a great opportunity to meet other people.

We had a golden afternoon kayaking the sanctuary. Sunset 7 pm tour, navigating mangroves. Using skills manuring the branches. Great guides who simply explained techniques, and stayed close behind myself and partner. They caught things if they fell out! Pointed out special sights. Highlight was team work with partner and spotting a dolphin, being with friends. An awesome way to spend a golden afternoon, quietly in estuary.

The views were amazing, took plenty of photos of the dolphins. The dolphins came up very close to the tour boat! My kids and I were very excited to see so many dolphins up close! Also, A Big Thank You to Chris who guided the tour!!! Chris has great knowledge and very friendly, Chris spoke about the history of Port Adelaide and the ship graveyard…. Will definitely recommend this tour to all families and friends! I will be definitely going on the tour again soon.

Really interesting trip along the river. We got off at the zoo which was a nice way to arrive. The cream teas looked lovey but we’d just had breakfast but next time would definitely book them!


