The journey to Mount Vesuvius was quite an experience. Hats off to the driver! You should definitely allow a bit more time, as the climb is very strenuous. I needed considerably more time than indicated, and therefore I couldn't walk the entire length of the crater rim. A shame, but still a fantastic experience that I highly recommend.

This was an exceptional day. I learned so much. I was fascinated to learn that the villa of Julius Caesar’s son-in-law in Herculaneum is recreated in Malibu California. I live in California and look forward to revisiting that villa I’ve seen it before, but I had no idea it was a Recreation.
