Maui is known as the "Valley Isle" due to its landscape of alternating valleys and coastlines. The island is warm year-round, and coastal areas are suitable for water activities in all seasons; however, if you plan to ascend to the summit of Haleakalā for sunrise in the early morning, the altitude is approx. 3,000 meters, and the temperature is significantly lower. The island's highlights are focused on natural scenery: the eastern Haleakalā National Park extends from the alpine zone to the coast, and the dormant volcanic crater at the summit, with its desolate, moon-like landscape, is a classic spot for watching the sunrise above the clouds; the Hana Hwy on the north coast winds between rainforests and sea cliffs, with sharp turns, one-lane bridges, waterfalls, and black sand beaches along the way—a self-drive trip here is like a rainforest adventure in itself. If you want to get in the water, you can take a boat to the crescent-shaped Molokini Crater not far offshore; this marine preserve has clear water and schools of tropical fish, making it a popular spot for snorkeling and diving. Kaanapali in the west and Wailea in the south are known for their long white sand beaches and resort atmosphere, which are perfect for sunbathing and surfing. There are also long-standing traditions to experience on the island: every day at sunset, a cliff-diving ceremony takes place at Black Rock at the north end of Kaanapali Beach, where divers light torches and leap into the sea—a scene many tourists wait specifically to see. Every winter, humpback whales return in groups to the warm waters around the island to breed and raise their young, and you have a chance to see them breaching from the shore or a whale-watching boat. If you want a change of pace, you can also visit the Iao Valley in the west, where the valley is lush and green, and the iconic Iao Needle rises abruptly, making it suitable for a relaxing short hike.Kula · 36km from Hana

Haleakalā National Park is located in the southeast of Maui. The park is divided into two main sections, which must be accessed via different entrances. The summit area is located near the crater, where visitors can hike and admire the moon-like landscape. It is also a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset. The way to visit the protected areas in the park is to join a guided hike.Maui County · 17.8km from Hana

Hana Red Sand Beach, located on the Hawaiian island of Maui, is a relatively narrow and isolated beach that has become an ideal spot for sunbathing. The sand at Red Sand Beach is eroded from an inland volcanic cinder cone and contains high levels of iron oxide. The rust-colored sand takes on a richer reddish-brown under the influence of the sea with every powerful wave the Pacific brings. Standing on a high place overlooking the red sand beach of Hana, a rust-colored world unfolds in front of you.Hana · 911m from downtown

The Hana Highway is located on Maui's rugged east coast, with about 600 turns and 54 bridges. The winding Hana Highway snakes between tropical valleys and towering cliffs, with beautiful scenery along the way. There are hiking trails along the way that go deep into the dense jungle, and you can see rushing waterfalls and clear pools. From Pa'ia all the way east, there will be fewer and fewer houses, replaced by sugarcane fields. After passing the 16-mile sign on Hwy36, the Hana Highway sign begins to change to Hwy36, and the sign numbers begin to return to zero.Maui County · 21.7km from Hana

Waianapanapa State Park is most famous for its black sand beach. The black sand beach was formed by a volcanic eruption. It is not so easy to see. It is very special. The sand on the black sand beach is still very comfortable and the scenery is good.

The sea around Maui was an unrealistically blue, with waves crashing against the rocks and splashing white foam. Wild pheasants swaggered across the road, and cars stopped to wait for them. The Hana Highway wound its way along the cliff edge, making my palms sweat, and I stopped seven or eight times to watch the waterfalls and rainbows. While snorkeling, I was startled to see a green sea turtle slowly sliding past me. At night, I could hear the waves from my cabin, and when I looked up, the sky was filled with stars, so dense it was almost frightening. Time moved at a leisurely pace; even the cats lay lazily by the roadside.

This is a beach with many young people, probably because there are many water entertainment projects here. Many young men are surfing at the beach, very energetic, the weather is good, and the scenery is particularly beautiful

From Hana road to hana. After Hana Town, continue to drive south clockwise along the coast around the island, soon to the beach Hamoa Beach. The waves here are much softer, the sea is very clear, the beach is not big, the people are not particularly many, the overall quality is very high.

Hana Highway 3: Red Beach - There are two red beaches in the world, one in Santorini, Greece, and the other here. The beach is relatively narrow and isolated, and it is definitely not an exaggeration to call it the most difficult beach to reach. We touched the rocks, stepped on the gravel, and walked and climbed along the edge of the mountain to reach the beach. It is said that all these factors make it an ideal place for people to enjoy nude sunbathing, but we didn’t see it [snickering] Popular science [grin] The rust color of the red beach indicates that the sand contains a high level of iron oxide, which was formed by the erosion of an inland volcanic slag cone. With each powerful wave brought by the Pacific Ocean, the rust-colored sand appears to be a darker reddish brown under the influence of the sea water.
