Dongdaihe Scenic Area is located in Suizhong County, Huludao City, at the southwestern tip of Liaoning, adjacent to Shanhaiguan in Qinhuangdao. It covers Wanjia Town and its surrounding coastal villages, beaches, and historical sites, forming a seaside resort area along the Bohai Sea. Compared with the earlier-developed Beidaihe and Nandaihe, this area started later and still retains a relatively pristine fishing village atmosphere. The long coastline features open beaches, attracting many tourists from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to come for self-drive vacations. Dongdaihe Scenic Areafeatures Zhimao Bay as a representative seaside area, which was originally a quiet little fishing village. The beach here has a gentle slope and shallow water, with an open sea view. Multiple seaside bathing beaches line the coast, offering lively water activities such as speedboats and jet skis. After the tide goes out, grabbing a small bucket for clam digging, catching crabs, and picking up seashells is a classic family-friendly activity. After getting tired, having a seafood meal at a local fishing guesthouse is the best way to experience the leisurely vacation pace here. In addition to the seaside, this area also hides a rich history of coastal heritage. The Ten-thousand Buddhas Temple, originally built in the Liao Dynasty, is located by the sea in Zhimao Bay. The surrounding area also features historical sites such as the Jiumenmen Water Great Wall Scenic Area, Qiansuo Ancient City, Suizhong Leaning Tower, and the Twin Towers, Miaofeng Temple, which can be visited together at a leisurely pace.Suizhong · 52km from downtown

Xingcheng Seaside Scenic Area is located in Xinghai Bay, east of downtown Xingcheng, and is a long stretch of natural beach along the Liaodong Bay of the Bohai Sea. The slope is gentle, the beach is wide, and the water near the shore is shallow. There are multiple swimming beaches and water recreation facilities along the coast. Every summer, visitors flock here to swim, play in the water, and go clam digging. Watching the red sun rise from the sea on the beach in the early morning is also a popular activity. The Chrysanthemum Girl statue at the entrance to the beach is a highly recognizable landmark here, with its image based on local folklore. The Sanjiao Scenic View at the southern end of the beach is the scenic area's signature attraction: three reefs sit in the sea, each with a pavilion built on it, and the pavilions are connected by trestle bridges. Climbing up to the pavilions allows you to watch the tides, listen to the waves, and fish while leaning on the railings, which is quite pleasant. When the tide goes out, the inner mudflats are partially exposed, making it great fun to carry a small bucket and pick up shells or catch crabs.Xingcheng · 7.4km from downtown

There is a mysterious island in the vast Bohai Bay, with a pleasant climate and numerous historical sites. She is the largest island in the Liaodong Bay of the Bohai Sea - Juehua Island. Juehua Island (formerly Chrysanthemum Island, renamed Juehua Island in 2009), commonly known as Dahaishan, was called Taohua Island in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and Juehua Island in the Liao and Jin Dynasties. It covers an area of 13.5 square kilometers and is known as the small Macau in the north. Eighteen miles away, thirty miles from Ningyuan City. In the Ming Dynasty, Juehua Island was a grain storage base and a naval base. On the island, there are beautiful rocks and towering ancient trees. There are Zhangshan Island and Yanshan Island in the south, and Mopanshan Island in the north. Gu'an Gallery Scenic Spot (formerly Dalonggong Temple Scenic Spot), named after the Dalonggong Temple built by Master Juehua in the Liao Dynasty, is located on the southeast coast of Juehua Island and is the core scenic spot of Juehua Island. This is a comprehensive scenic spot for historical and cultural tours, natural sightseeing tours, archaeological exploration tours, tasting Bodhi tea, drinking ancient well water (religious healing) and pilgrimage incense. The scenic spot includes the Millennium Bodhi Sacred Tree, the Millennium Octagonal Ancient Well, the mysterious Tangwang Cave, the Bodhi Tea House, the Dabei Pavilion Ruins and the Tourist Service Center. The folk customs of Juehua Island are simple and simple, and the "fishing house" run by the local islanders has a unique atmosphere. There are abundant seafood here, rich in crabs, oysters, clams, shrimps, jellyfish, fish, shrimps, etc. It is especially famous for the cheap fat of crabs.Xingcheng · 14.5km from downtown

Longhuitou is located near the 313 Beach in Xingcheng. From here, you can overlookLongwan Beach. Nestled between mountains and the sea, it offers stunning, picturesque views and is one of the key tourist attractions in Huludao. There are two legends about Longhuitou. One is that, according to legend, when Emperor Qianlong was on a tour and passing by on his way back to the capital, he was so captivated by the beautiful scenery that he kept looking back, which is how the name originated. Nestled against the mountains and facing the sea, the area features rolling pine forests and a beautiful coastline beneath steep cliffs. Looking out at the vast sea, you can also enjoy the cityscape of the new district of Huludao. The second legend tells of sea monsters that once haunted Bohai Bay. One day, a dragon came here to cultivate its spiritual powers. Seeing the local people being bullied by the sea monsters, it used its magic to eliminate them. With the monsters gone, its cultivation was complete, and it was time to leave. The dragon, loath to part with this land, looked back repeatedly, forming what is now known as Longhuitou. Of course, legends are just legends. This is actually a naturally formed vantage point for viewing the sea. Looking out at the boundless ocean, you will see a peninsula extending into the water; this is the actual Huludao. Viewing the sea here on a cloudy day, it is shrouded in mist, while on a sunny day, the blue sky and the sea reflect each other. Each offers its own unique charm and beauty.Xingcheng · 9.2km from downtown

Zhimao Bay is located in Wanjia Town, Suizhong County, in the western part of Liaoning Province. It sits on the coast of the Bohai Sea, adjacent to Shanhaiguan. Many travelers from nearby cities choose to drive here for the weekend, especially those from Beijing. As an undeveloped, pristine beach, it is quieter and less crowded than other more established beaches. The environment is beautiful, and the local customs are simple and authentic. The beach here is clean, gentle, and soft underfoot. The water is crystal clear. More than 200 m from the shore, three massive reefs stand in the sea; this is one of the more famous attractions in Zhimao Bay—the Tomb of Meng Jiangnu, which folklore says is where Meng Jiangnu threw herself into the sea.Suizhong · 50.4km from downtown

Shoushan is named after its three peaks all of which are shaped like human heads. It is a natural barrier that stands in the northeast Yili Ancient City and was a battleground during many militaristic dynasties. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, during the "Great Military Success of Ningjin," Shoushan was the main field of battle. Shoushan's main peak still has the preserved beacon tower which was built during the Ming Dynasty. Shoushan has been designated as a national forest park. Shoushan Mountain is majestic. Whenever the clouds linger on the peaks, the “three crowns" scene is clearly visible.Xingcheng · 4km from downtown

The ancient city of Qiansuo is located 42 kilometers west of Suizhong County. It was built in the third year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty (1428). The city is basically square, with a length of 510 meters from east to west, a width of 502 meters from north to south, and a wall height of 10 meters. The city gates were originally built with Luocheng, and now only the West Monroe city remains. Qiansuocheng is the first city outside the customs. When the Ming and Qing Dynasties were at war, the Ming Dynasty sent the general troops to guard here. In the Ming Dynasty, 125 Suocheng were built outside the customs, and the former city is the only one that is relatively well preserved. Qiansuo Ancient City is an ancient city located in a special geographical location in the link area of the Western Liaoning Corridor. It not only reflects the connotation of local historical science and culture, but also reflects the close historical, military, economic and cultural exchanges between northern and southern China. The ancient city of Qiansuo is a typical representative of the city in the Ming Dynasty. It has witnessed the military activities in the western Liaoning area in the middle and late Ming Dynasty in detail, and has a very high historical research value.Suizhong · 42.2km from downtown

Xingcheng Ancient City truly lives up to its reputation as one of the four best-preserved ancient cities from the Ming Dynasty in my country. The Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture and cultural features within the city showcase the grandeur of a historical and cultural city. The ancient city walls and barbican are remarkably well-preserved. Overall, it's well worth a visit; combining modern humanistic concepts with a blend of ancient and modern atmosphere, it's a place you'll want to return to again and again.

The coastal scenery is beautiful, and the beach sand is quite fine. It had just rained the day we went, but it wasn't sunny yet, so it felt foggy. However, there was a lot of trash on the beach, making the water already murky, and the trash made going in the water less appealing. Parking is convenient and is charged per use, 10 yuan per trip.

Xingcheng's most famous seaside destination is Juehua Island, so this time I decided to visit it. To get to the island, you need to buy a boat ticket. There are regular and express boats. I recommend the express boat; it's 30 yuan more expensive, but the experience is completely different. The island is quite large, so renting an electric scooter is crucial. Importantly, rent one with a covered scooter. Before renting, be sure to test drive the scooter to ensure the brakes are working properly. After renting the scooter, you can explore the island. There are only two bathing beaches on the island: the east and south. Accommodation is concentrated in these two areas. Of the two, I recommend the south one because it has more evening activities. Although it's farther from the pier, the hotel provides shuttle service. For sea hopping, I recommend not going to the beach. I recommend visiting the island's strange rock beach and the mudflats west of the pier. At low tide, you can find large crabs and various shells. The commercial level of the entire island is relatively good, and it is very convenient to eat, stay and travel. However, don't expect too much when it comes to eating. I suggest ordering some seafood home-cooked dishes here. Their cooking level is really too average. In short, the most important thing is to have fun, so don't expect too much. Overall, I still highly recommend this island. It is a good experience.

Longwan Beach is a summer beach resort with beautiful scenery and mountains and sea. --The beach has soft sand and clear water. It is very pleasant to walk on the beach or play in the water. --There is a novel and unique "Wanghai Tower" built on the hillside northwest of the bay. When you climb up the tower and look out, the sea and sky are one color, the scenery is charming, and there is a sea-viewing corridor.

Zhimo Bay is located in Wanjia Town, Suizhong County, Huludao City, Liaoning Province. It is a natural fishing port, part of the Dongdaihe Scenic Area, and adjacent to Shanhaiguan. The sea water here is clear, the beach is high-quality, and there are many marine entertainment projects. Jieshi Beach is a famous scenic spot, and three reefs not far from the beach are clearly visible. Seafood fisherman's meals are local specialties. This is a great place for a summer weekend vacation, and it is more convenient to choose a self-driving tour.

The Lüliang Movement, a geological tectonic event occurring between 1.9 and 1.8 billion years ago, was proposed by Mr. Li Siguang and named after the Lüliang Mountains in Shanxi Province, where it was most typical. The Lüliang Movement led to the closure of the central North China Belt, the Khondalite Belt, and the Jiao-Liao-Jilin Belt, re-welding the Archean continental crust and inducing regional metamorphism and the intrusion of potassic granites. The Lüliang Movement formed the unified North China Platform basement, subsequently creating a regional unconformity, known as the final stage of cratonization.
