Lake Geneva is located on the border between Switzerland and France, nestled between the Alps in a crescent shape, with approx. 60% of its waters within Switzerland. The lake water is clear and blue, with distant snow-capped mountains reflected in it, forming a typical view of theAlpine region. Numerous views and landmarks are distributed along the lakeshore. Chillon Castle, built on a rock in the lake, has stood for nearly a thousand years and is one of Switzerland's famous medieval buildings, and Byron once wrote a famous long poem about it. The towns along the shore each have their own charm. Geneva blends modern urban vibes with historical heritage, and Montreux is known for its pleasant lakeside climate. Taking a boat cruise on the lake is a classic way to enjoy the panoramic view of Lake Geneva and the scenery on both shores. In summer, you can enjoy water activities such as sailing and kayaking on the lake, while in winter, you can head to the nearbyAlpine regionto ski.Switzerland · Saint-Prex

Lake Thun is located on the Bernese Oberland between Thun and Interlaken. The lake is deep blue and crystal clear, and there are not only beautiful views of the Alps around the lake, but also traditional Swiss wooden villages. The summer resort Lake Thun is a local summer family holiday resort. There are many holiday houses along the coast, and you can see many people swimming, playing in the water or cycling and hiking, which is very lively. In addition, it is also popular with sailing enthusiasts for its very good breeze. A boat cruise is the best way to experience Lake Thun, starting from the pier next to Interlaken West Station, roaming west through the narrow waterway, and soon looking back at the magnificent scenery of the Jungfrau region. The cruise ships will stop at several stops along the lake, especially the famous town of Spiez. The end of the cruise is the medieval city of Thun on the west bank of the lake. The whole route takes about 2 hours one way. Cycling around the lake Many Swiss people love to ride bicycles along Lake Thun. Although there are more than 50 kilometers of roads around the lake, it is very exhausting, but the scenery along the way will be very enjoyable. Of course, you can also choose to ride one of the distances, and I believe you will have a good experience. Hiking in the mountains around Lake Thun is a great place to go on foot, and there is something special about the panoramic views of Lake Thun from tops such as the Niederhorn.Switzerland · Sigriswil

Town of Spiez is situated on the southern shore of Lake Thun in the Bernese Highlands of Switzerland, nestled in a bay enclosed by two lush, wooded peninsulas. Vineyards on the hillsides stretch down to the lake, a medieval castle stands by the shore, and the Niesen peak on the opposite bank connects to the Bernese Alps. The castle, vineyards, blue lake, and snow-capped mountains framed together create a classic scene in many travelers' photos. The core view here is Spiez Castle and the adjacent Romanesque castle church. The tower was built right by the water and now houses a museum, where the Knight's Hall and period room furnishings tell the history of the local noble families, and the church still preserves Romanesque frescoes. A viewpoint overlooking the entire bay is located by the road above the castle. The hillside vineyards are a rare wine-growing region in the Bernese Highlands, cultivating varieties such as Pinot Noir and Riesling-Sylvaner, and the loop around the bay is easy to walk with expansive views. In summer, you can also swim by the lake, look back at the castle from the water, or take a Lake Thun cruise into the bay for a different perspective.Switzerland · Spiez

old nice is located near the Mediterranean coast and is one of the representative historic districts of Nice. It was formed during the Middle Ages and features a compact street layout, retaining a large number of traditional buildings in the Italian style, which showcases the historical background of Nice as a long-standing intersection of French and Italian cultures. The building facades here are primarily in warm tones such as yellow, ochre, and orange, complemented by green shutters, wrought-iron balconies, and traditional wooden doors, creating a distinct Mediterranean urban landscape. The area is filled with narrow cobblestone streets, small squares, churches, cafes, restaurants, and specialty shops, and exploring on foot reveals many architectural details with historical character.France · Nice

UNESCO - Bern Old Town

4.7/5
139 reviews
UNESCO - Bern Old Town is the historic heart of Bern, the capital of Switzerland. The entire district sits on a high plateau surrounded on three sides by the Aare River. Most of the early wooden houses here were destroyed by fire, after which they were rebuilt with sandstone. The continuous red-tiled roofs and sandstone buildings remain in use today, and the medieval street layout has largely remained unchanged. The main street is paved with cobblestones. Heading east along Justice Street, the ground floors of the old houses on both sides are connected by arcades that stretch for several km, housing watch shops, antique stores, bookstores, cafes, and restaurants. Scattered along the center of the street are over 100 fountains, including the Fountain of Justice, the Zähringen Fountain featuring an armored knight with a bear, and the Child Eater Fountain (Kindlifresserbrunnen), each with its own story. The Zytglogge astronomical clock mechanism at the western end is still in operation today. On the hour, the jester rings the bell, the bears parade in a circle, and the gilded figures strike the time—a scene that has been playing out for centuries as crowds look up from below the tower. You can climb the narrow stairs inside the Gothic cathedral near the river to reach the platform, where you can overlook the layers of red tiles and the bend of the Aare River. The Rose Garden on the high ground across the river is also a great spot to look back at the panoramic view.Switzerland · Bern

Baie des Anges is one of the iconic bay views on the French Riviera. Its coastline extends from Nice to the surrounding areas, and the water typically features a turquoise hue, creating a striking Mediterranean landscape alongside the city's architecture and distant mountains. The Promenade des Anglais runs along the bay and is a key pedestrian area for enjoying the sea view. On one side of the promenade is the open sea, while the other side is lined with hotels, residences, restaurants, and public spaces, showcasing the unique atmosphere of a coastal city. Its coastline is primarily characterized by pebble beaches, which differ from many sandy beaches, and the waves create a distinct sound as they crash against the pebbles.France · Nice

Schilthorn

6.7
4.4/5
204 reviews
Schilthorn is located in the Alps south of Interlaken, with an altitude of 2,970 meters. It is surrounded by well-known peaks such as Jungfrau and Eiger. Schilthorn is famous for the thrilling fight scenes in the 007 series "The Queen's Order". In summer, you can experience two different landscapes. If you go to Schilthorn in summer, when you reach the foot of the mountain, you can see green grass, local huts, and free-range cattle and sheep; It's another world, full of snow-covered scenes. Climbing by glass box cable car The main way for tourists to climb the Schilthorn is to take the cable car, but the difference is that this is a large glass box that can accommodate 80 people and moves up the mountain at a fast speed. The process of taking the cable car to the Schilthorn is fascinating, first from Stechelberg, 867 meters above sea level, to Gimmelwald, 1368 meters above sea level, and then to Mürren, Birg, and the process of changing the cable car. You will continue to experience the feeling of a real bird's-eye view. Even through the glass of the cable car, the photos taken are still shocking. The exciting ascent experience is a more thrilling section from Murren at 1638 meters to Birg at 2677 meters. In less than 10 minutes, the altitude is raised by 1 kilometer, and people will constantly exclaim at the beautiful scenery outside the window when ascending. I also continued to experience the feeling of weightlessness. From the Schilthorn Observation Deck, you can see the end of the cable car at the Schilthorn Observation Deck, which is 2970 meters above sea level. This is the place where the 007 movie was filmed. There are countless majestic peaks around the Schilthorn. From afar, you can see the Jungfrau, Eiger and Moshi, which are also among the mountains. 360-degree revolving panorama restaurant There is a revolving restaurant PizGloria on the top of the mountain. When the weather is good, you can dine here. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the peaks. Every time you turn a section, there will be an iron sign with a clear icon to tell you who you are facing at this angle. Which are the peaks and their elevations. The restaurant has special recommended dishes every day, which are worth experiencing. Photo with "Bond" There is also a James Bond figure with a pistol on the viewing platform, and you can take pictures with the "celebrity". If you have enough time, you can also enter the octagonal theater in the observation deck to watch an 18-minute multi-view Schilthorn region scenery film, including highlights from the 007 movie.Switzerland · Lauterbrunnen

Old Port of Marseille

4.7/5
277 reviews
The old port area is the center of gravity and the essence of the entire Marseille region, not only because it is the origin of Marseille and was the third largest port in the world 200 years ago, but more importantly, the pure Marseille style can only be seen here. There are many famous monuments around the Old Port, including the castles of Saint John and Saint Nicholas built in the era of Louis XIV. In addition, the old port is also the life and entertainment center of the Maasai people. The area around the Old Port is a famous food district. Most of the restaurants in the port operate a famous Marseille delicacy - "Marseille Fish Soup". The "Old Port" is actually not old. It was rebuilt after the Second World War, but the locals still call it "Old Port". Apart from habit, there should be a historical sentiment in it. Every morning, the fish market here is very lively, and the wharf is full of small fishing boats and boats. The whole harbor is full of the unique leisure atmosphere of southern France. The master plan of the Old Port Mirror View Pavilion was jointly undertaken by FosterPartners and French landscape architect Michel Desvigne. A huge viewing pavilion of 46 × 22 meters, which is like a mirror, was built here. It is supported by 8 thin columns. Since then, the corners of the mirror pavilion have been gradually thinned to reduce the visual weight. The view of the surrounding old port is reflected from the ceiling of the polished stainless steel mirror, as well as the faces of thousands of tourists who stop to watch, creating a strange beauty, which not only provides a place for tourists to stop and shade, but also It allows tourists to become part of the landscape when they enjoy the scenery of the old port.France · Marseille

Prom. des Anglais is not an attraction within the United Kingdom, but rather one of the iconic seaside promenades in Nice. It stretches along the Baie des Anges, spanning approx. 7 km, connecting the area near Nice Airport with the city center's waterfront, and is a key spot for local residents to walk, jog, and cycle, as well as for tourists to enjoy the sea view. On one side is the azure Mediterranean Sea, while the other is lined with hotels, restaurants, cafes, and historic buildings. The route features wide pedestrian areas, palm trees, and iconic blue chairs, making it easy for people to stop and admire the bay view. Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe is one of Switzerland’s most spectacular mountain destinations, offering an unforgettable experience high in the Swiss Alps. Surrounded by magnificent snow-covered peaks, vast glaciers, and breathtaking alpine scenery, the journey to the summit is an adventure itself. The panoramic views from the top are truly mesmerizing, especially on a clear day when the mountains seem to stretch endlessly into the horizon. Walking through the snowy landscape feels like entering a winter wonderland. The impressive Aletsch Glacier adds even more beauty to the experience. Jungfraujoch is a must-visit destination for travelers who love mountains, snow, photography, and extraordinary natural landscapes.

Lake Geneva, which shares the same name as the city, is very vast, with a sapphire-like color and sparkling in the sun. From Geneva Airport, you can take a train to Nyon, a small town on the shore of Lake Geneva. The hotel rooms there are large, and the lake view rooms also have terraces to enjoy the lake view. The breakfast is very rich and cost-effective. From the dock in Nyon, you can take a boat to the French flower town opposite and experience the fun of crossing two countries in half an hour. The price of the flower town is lower than that of Switzerland, and it is very pleasant to enjoy authentic French food there.

We first took a train from Interlaken to Spez, and then took a boat from Spez to Thun. Lake Thunersee is known as God's left eye. I personally think it is a little worse than Lake Brienz, God's right eye. Lake Thun is greener, while Brienz is bluer. Of course, Lake Thun is also very beautiful, especially with the buildings and natural scenery on both sides. If you take a boat, it is free with a Swiss pass. However, there are few seats in the second-class cabin, and it is a bit cold to sit outside. It is recommended to wear more clothes. From Thun back to Interlaken, we chose to take the bus, and we can see different beautiful scenery along the way.

The town of Spiez on Lake Thun is an absolutely charming place to visit. It is backed by mountains, faces vineyards and, most magnificently, is crowned by a splendid castle. The Niederhorn mountain range above the lake stretches all the way to the Bernese Alps, creating a magnificent panorama. The mild climate and bright sunshine make it an ideal starting point for exploring the many famous tourist attractions in the Bernese Oberland or Valais. Spiez Castle is a highlight here, as is the castle gardens. From the castle, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding area. Likewise, a detour to the castle church is worthwhile. There are many hiking and cycling trails around Spiez. In addition, the neighboring cities of Thun and Interlaken are also great for day trips. Last but not least, the Bernese Oberland is easily accessible from Spiez.

A Winter's Glow Over the Bay of Angels The winter glow of Nice is a visual feast not to be missed. At dawn, the Bay of Angels is covered with a thin layer of snow, its fine white sand and pebble beaches half pure white and half deep black. As the first rays of sunlight pierce through the clouds, the entire bay is instantly bathed in a warm orange-gold hue, the sea shimmering like it's been sprinkled with diamonds. The colorful old buildings, illuminated by the glow and snow, take on an oil painting-like quality. Warm yellow walls and pale pink roofs appear even more gentle under the snow, while the silhouettes of palm trees are outlined with graceful lines in the golden light. The waves gently lap against the shore, creating a soft, pattering sound, and together with the snow-covered Castle Hill in the distance, a breathtaking scene. This romance is not always available; the once-in-a-decade snowfall and the perfectly timed glow combine to create this uniquely Mediterranean gentleness. Standing on the streets of Anglo-Saxon, watching the golden sunlight gradually melt the snow, you'll understand that Nice's winter is more worthwhile than you might imagine.

It happened to be winter when I went there, so there were almost no people on the beach. The sea water was not as blue as in summer, but the light blue hue was also unique. Although it is also close to the Mediterranean Sea, the sea breeze is much milder than that in Tel Aviv and Alexandria, Egypt, and the climate is mild and pleasant. No wonder Matisse went to Nice for recuperation in winter. This time there was a strike, and the city's transportation was on strike. I just walked around the old town and the beach, strolled on the English Promenade, and picked up stones on the beach. I could spend a whole day there.
