Huajiang Canyon Bridge Tourism-Integrated Service Area

4.6/5
579 reviews
The Huajiang Canyon Bridge stands 625 m vertically above the river surface, serving as a benchmark cultural tourism landmark where Guizhou's super project deeply integrates with karst natural wonders. Leveraging the high bridge resources, the service area has created a mountain tourism destination combining high-altitude immersive sightseeing, bridge engineering education, and karst geological exploration. From a 625-meter cloud perspective, it unlocks the dual awe of China's bridge construction marvels and the canyon's hidden wonders. 1. Cloud ladder·fully transparent sightseeing elevator in bridge tower: Located in the south bridge tower (Zhenfeng side), it is a rare fully transparent sightseeing elevator built inside a high bridge tower in China. The elevator climbs steadily at a speed of 4 m per second, taking only 24 seconds to reach the second floor of the bridge tower approx. 625 m above the river. The fully transparent glass cabin provides an unobstructed vertical view. During the ascent, the lush vegetation at the valley bottom, the winding river in the canyon, the steel trusses of the bridge deck, and the towering structure at the tower top unfold layer by layer before your eyes. With a 100-meter abyss beneath your feet, the entire journey immerses you in the visual impact of soaring through the air. It is not only a popular "cloud ladder" check-in spot in the service area but also a step-by-step high-altitude experience. 2. Sky spine·box girder built-in sightseeing hall: A high-altitude view corridor built within the main box girder of the bridge, standing 625 m above the river surface, creating a unique sightseeing space inside the bridge. Walking through the "steel spine" of the bridge, one side features the intricate and robust steel truss structure, allowing close observation of suspension bridge components and appreciation of large-scale engineering wisdom. The other side offers panoramic windows to overlook the majestic Huajiang Grand Canyon, with rolling karst peaks and the river winding like an emerald ribbon through the mountains. The corridor also features bridge science exhibition points, providing an easy-to-understand guide on the construction process and technological breakthroughs of Guizhou's high bridges, combining sightseeing with educational insights. 3. Cloud walk·high-altitude glass hall: Located in the middle section of the box girder corridor, 625 m above the river surface, it is constructed with high-strength special laminated glass. Standing on the transparent glass floor, you can directly overlook the vast canyon abyss, with the Beipanjiang River valley and karst peak forest in full view. When clouds drift in, it feels like floating in a sea of clouds. The hall features a check-in observation deck, cultural and creative exhibition area, and high bridge post office, combining sightseeing, photography, and leisure experiences. It is the most iconic viral photo spot in the entire attraction. 4. Super project·Bridge wonder: The Huajiang Canyon Bridge itself is the core attraction of the service area, and it is also a prominent steel-truss suspension bridge with a remarkable span in China's mountainous regions. The two main towers stand on both sides of the canyon, with a km main span soaring across the sky. The two main cables bear a tensile force of tens of thousands of tons, showcasing the grandeur of a major national project. Whether viewed from afar or up close, one can feel the awe-inspiring transformation of "a natural chasm into a thoroughfare." It is a highly representative landmark in Guizhou's "Bridge Museum" and a recommended destination for engineering and photography enthusiasts.Zhenfeng · 35.3km from downtown

The Beipanjiang Grand Canyon is located in Zhenfeng County, Southwestern Guizhou Province. It belonged to the ancient Yelang Kingdom during the Qin and Han Dynasties. The canyon integrates peak forests, karst caves, strange rocks, waterfalls, rivers, flower beaches, swirling ponds and virgin forest vegetation. The Beipan River flows through 7 towns and towns in Zhenfeng County, forming a 94-kilometer-long grand canyon in the territory, which is the largest canyon in Guizhou Province. The canyon integrates peak forests, karst caves, strange rocks, waterfalls, rivers, flower beaches, swirling ponds and virgin forest vegetation. It is also surrounded by Yelang culture such as ancient murals and ancient city ruins. The landscape is a new highlight of the western Guizhou tourism line, and it is also a reproduction of "the apes on both sides of the strait can't cry, and the light boat has passed ten thousand mountains". The Beipanjiang Bridge on the highway is 486 meters long and 388 meters high. It is the first high bridge among similar bridges in Asia. From the bridge overlooking the deep tunnel and long canyon, it is nearly a thousand meters high and several kilometers long. The axe-cut cliff is like a majestic and majestic huge corridor mural, especially when the fog is hazy and smoky clouds linger, it is a fairyland-like feeling.Zhenfeng · 20.2km from downtown

Huangguoshu Scenic Area

4.6/5
40.1k reviews
The Huangguoshu Scenic Area is located in Anshun, Guizhou, centered around the Huangguoshu Waterfall. Surrounded by deep gorges, dense vegetation, and dotted with limestone caves and stone forests, it is a typical karst landscape area. The waterfall's name originates from the locally abundant "Huangguoshu" (Ficus virens). Ming Dynasty traveler Xu Xiake visited and documented this site, contributing to its fame. The scenic area primarily consists of three main sections: the Great Waterfall, Tianxing Bridge, and Doupotang. Most travelers follow the sequence of Doupotang, Tianxing Bridge, and finally the Great Waterfall, saving the most spectacular view for last. The grand waterfall has a drop of nearly 80 m and a width of over 100 m. The Baishui River plunges from the cliff top into Rhinoceros Pool, creating a vast mist. Multiple viewing platforms around it allow visitors to experience its grandeur, wonder, steepness, and beauty from different angles—above, below, front, back, left, and right. A particularly unique experience lies behind the waterfall: a 100 m long Water Curtain Cave runs horizontally through its midsection, featuring cave windows and halls. Reaching through a window, one can touch the cascading water. The cave served as the filming location for the Water Curtain Cave in the 1986 TV series Journey to the West. Due to the heavy humidity inside, bringing a raincoat in advance is recommended. Tianxing Bridge is renowned for its harmonious blend of rocks, water, trees, and caves—where rocks rise from the water, caves hide within rocks, and trees stand beside caves. The stepping stones along the path are engraved with dates, allowing travelers to find their own "birthday stone." The attraction is divided into upper and lower sections. Many travelers turn back after completing the upper section, missing the Silver Chain Waterfall in the lower part—where water cascades like silver chains into a funnel-shaped pool, the highlight of Tianxing Bridge. The Doupotang waterfall is located approx. 1 km upstream from the grand waterfall. With a width of over 100 m at its crest, the water spreads out smoothly like a beaded curtain. During the high-water season, its deep roar earns it the nickname "roaring waterfall." The scene of the four pilgrims leading their horse across the river in the 1986 TV series Journey to the West was filmed here. In summer and fall, the waterfalls are full and powerful, while in winter and spring, the flow becomes gentler, offering different viewing experiences. Nearby, visitors can also enjoy local snacks like sticky rice, love tofu, and Anshun spring rolls.Zhenning · 67.1km from Zhenfeng

Stone Forest Scenic Area

The Stone Forest Scenic Area is located in Shilin County, Kunming, and is one of the key attractions in the city. This scenic area showcases typical karst landforms, featuring stone peaks, pinnacles, sinkholes, and underground rivers. The towering rock formations take on various shapes—sword-like, pagoda-like, mushroom-like, and more—creating a breathtaking and fantastical landscape. The Stone Forest Scenic Area is divided into several widely spaced sections, with the Greater and Lesser Stone Forest attractions at its core. The Naigu Stone Forest is located approx. 12 km north of the main attractions, while the Dadie Waterfall scenic area sits approx. 29 km southwest. The Changhu Lake area is positioned 26 km southeast of the main site. When visitors refer to touring the Stone Forest, they typically mean exploring the Greater and Lesser Stone Forest sections. The Greater and Lesser Shilin are located in the same area. After purchasing tickets at the main entrance and walking along the path for 20 minutes, you'll find the smaller and more gently sloped Lesser Shilin Scenic Area on your left. Amidst the dense cluster of peaks stands the famous Ashima Stone, where the majestic karst formations resemble a graceful Yi ethnic maiden named Ashima, seemingly waving to visitors—a favorite photo spot for travelers. Beyond the striking Ashima, the Lesser Shilin area features other captivating views like the Steed and Pillar Supporting the Sky, each with unique shapes. This is where your imagination is put to the test. If you find your imagination lacking, we recommend hiring a guide who can offer fresh perspectives on these remarkable formations. As you drive leisurely along the highway, you'll encounter a series of remarkable rock formations lining the roadside—the Tang Monk Stone, Stone Prison, Phoenix Combing Its Wings, and Lingzhi Mushroom Rock—each vividly lifelike and exquisitely crafted by nature's artistry, presenting their unique postures to showcase Earth's wondrous creations. Strolling along the pathway, you'll unexpectedly arrive at the Great Stone Forest Scenic Area. After marveling at wonders like "Two Birds Sharing Food," "Rhinoceros Gazing at the Moon," "Lotus Peak," "Shilin Grand View," and "Stone Screen," you might feel slightly fatigued. Take a peaceful break at Lion Pavilion while admiring the inverted peaks reflected in Lion Pool across the way. After prolonged exposure to these karst formations, visual fatigue may set in—making it the perfect moment to shift perspectives. Board a cruise on Shilin Lake, where mountain vistas and water scenery converge into one breathtaking panorama, dissolving all stress and worries. If you prefer not to walk, electric carts driven by Yi ethnic women shuttle between attractions and stop upon request. You can still marvel at the wonders of the Stone Forest Scenic Area, and some friendly drivers may even share interesting local anecdotes along the way. Naigu Stone Forest, also known as New Stone Forest or Mozhai Stone Forest, is located 13 km north of the Stone Forest Scenic Area. It features a landscape composed of stone formations, Baiyun Lake, Shifeng Mountain, and Yougu Xianpu Waterfall. Compared to the Stone Forest Scenic Area, this site offers a distinct style. The towering gray-black stone pillars here are densely packed, resembling castles, towers, and mushrooms. The rugged, primitive rock formations surge skyward like waves, creating a majestic atmosphere. Walking through these dark peaks feels like stepping into a primeval world.China · Shilin

We arrived at Huajiang Bridge in the afternoon. Although it was during the holiday, there was no congestion in either direction, and traffic flowed smoothly. There were queues to enter and exit parking lots 1 and 2. There's a bridge viewing platform at Yundu, and the Guanlan Restaurant offers excellent views. There's a water curtain light show at 8:30 PM and a drone show at 8:45 PM. The karst waterfall on the bridge is creative; the high bridge and cascading waterfall, illuminated day and night, create a beautiful scene.

The scenic area has a large parking lot, making parking convenient. It's not far from the highway exit; you can easily find it using navigation. Within the scenic area, you can take a shuttle bus or walk; there's no need to climb mountains, making it suitable for families with elderly members and children. The scenery is beautiful.

Look up and see the bridge cables tremble gently in the wind—a thrill no online celebrity restaurant can match. 2. Explore the "Luminous Canyon" at night The newly opened fluorescent trail (¥98/person) in 2025. Shine a handheld UV lamp on the rock wall, and the entire Cambrian fossil complex will glow a faint blue. Geologists will also explain the underwater world 500 million years ago. 3. The ultimate challenge for abseiling enthusiasts The newly opened "Hell's Stitch" (¥358/person) features a 200-meter vertical drop. It requires a rappel through a stalactite cave, ending with a kayak ride through an underground river (photography included). 🏕️ A new kind of accommodation: Stay inside the bridge. Daqiao Steel Capsule Hotel (¥880/night): Converted from a bridge maintenance tunnel, the fully transparent capsule hovers in the center of the canyon, allowing for mist to flow beneath you in the early morning hours. Cave Tent Camp (¥420/per person): Tucked away at the entrance of an unexplored cave, guests are equipped with professional caving equipment for self-guided exploration. ⚠️ Real Experience: "The steel capsule has zero soundproofing, but falling asleep to the sound of the canyon wind is worth the price! Zhenfeng Ancient City is not very large, but it does have some very distinctive ancient buildings, mainly residential houses and temples, and the city gate is newly built. Among them, Wenchang Palace (with a special exhibition on the Red Army's Long March through Guizhou and Zhenfeng) and the Confucian Temple are worth stopping at; Minshan Academy is known as the "cultural living room" of the county, where you can watch calligraphy exhibitions, read books quietly, drink coffee, and taste fragrant tea. This is an open block and is free to visit. There are not many commercial shops and it is relatively deserted, which is more suitable for taking photos and checking in.

It feels like Huangguoshu Waterfall has boosted the entire city of Anshun. It's a huge tourist attraction, not just around the site, but also in the surrounding areas. There are three separate areas for transportation alone, and we even got our navigation wrong. Even with the VIP pass, we were still exhausted. I can't imagine what it would have been like without it. But finally, we saw Huangguoshu Waterfall – it was breathtaking and beautiful, definitely worth the ticket price. If you can't book the Water Curtain Cave, I suggest not coming at all.

Looking at the Huajiang Canyon Bridge from a different angle, you can also see the old Huajiang Bridge and the Huajiang Iron Chain Bridge. For someone like me who loves hiking but dislikes boating, it felt a bit monotonous. In the end, I abandoned the boat and hiked.

A very treasured outdoor sports park. I used to think that our country has no shortage of terrain and landforms for various outdoor sports, but lacks the awareness and atmosphere of outdoor challenges. I didn't expect to find this treasure outdoor sports place in Anlong, Guizhou, which seems to be remote! Since I'm here, of course I have to play my favorite via ferrata. The route is great, with safety facilities in place. The whole route is 600 meters and the climb is 165 meters. There are suspension bridges and other designs on the road. The experience is very good! The end point is at the cliff hotel, which is quite good. After completing the route, I was given a commemorative medal and certificate, which is very meaningful.
