mackelFriendship Pass, one of China's nine famous passes, was first built in the Han Dynasty and has a history of over two thousand years. The "Zhennanguan Victory" of the Sino-French War at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the "Zhennanguan Uprising," personally led by Sun Yat-sen (reportedly the only uprising in which the Father of the Nation personally commanded from the front lines), both took place here. Since the Jinjishan Fortress closes at 4 PM, I drove directly up the mountain, only to find that the destination was a military management area – a misleading result from Gaode Maps, wasting twenty minutes. The good thing was that I passed the Nongyao Port, which I had never heard of before, a bonus. I arrived at the Friendship Pass scenic area at 3:30 PM. Inside, I first climbed the steep steps to the Jinjishan Fortress, panting as I reached the ticket checkpoint. I learned that it would take two hours to go there and back, and I didn't have enough time, so I had to give up. After visiting the gate towers facing each other and the South Gate Flood Control Office (designed by the French, hence also known as the French-style building), I climbed the Zuofushan Fortress to look towards my neighbor, Vietnam.

风雪太行It's well worth a visit. The Daliancheng Scenic Area, located 1.5 kilometers from Pingxiang City, served as the command center for Su Yuanchun when he oversaw Guangxi's border defenses. The scenic area boasts attractions such as the White Jade Cave, Wusheng Palace, and Sijing Garden, blending natural scenery with historical and cultural heritage, offering visitors a truly exceptional experience. Tickets are reasonably priced and offer excellent value for money.
