I recently went to Yangshuo West Street with friends and stayed at a hotel there. Looking out the window at the misty scenery, it felt like I was in the misty Jiangnan region. It was truly poetic. Strolling West Street at night was quite fun, with all the unique attractions, light shows, and delicious food. I'd definitely go again.

We took a cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, absorbing the beautiful views of the karst mountains from the water. Then we stayed at an inn outside of the old town so we could spend some quiet time relaxing and exploring the countryside. There were hiking trails through small villages, along fruit orchards. I also hiked to a little 500-year-old bridge and up some mountains for the gorgeous views. Street vendors are available all over to provide snacks and refreshments.
