The lake lies within the municipality of Grainau and is privately-owned. Directly at the bottom of the Zugspitze, lies one of the most beautiful lakes in the Bavarian Alps - the Eibsee. Formed more than 3000 years ago by a landslide, the mountain lake offers a variety of sporting activities and excursions. In winter, the Eibsee with its picturesque winter landscape is absolutely worth seeing. The Eibsee circular trail is also passable in winter. In January, the lake is often completely frozen which gives the landscape something magical.

An umbrella or waterproof layer could turn out useful as there was quite a lot of rainfall. The fall foilage were spectacular during this period. Though it was raining, we braved the weather and did a few hikes. As soon as we reached the spots, the skies cleared up a little and we managed to absorb the beauty of it all! Lake Eibsee, in close proximity to Zugspitze was the most unexpectedly gorgeous spots we visited. Sometimes we walked through dense forests, feeling the sunlight filtering through the treetops, casting dappled shadows and lush greenery all around. The cool breeze blew through the woods, the air was fresh, and it was so quiet that we could only hear the sound of our own footsteps. Our hearts suddenly became calm, completely immersed in the beautiful scenery around us. The beautiful scenery of the lake area is vivid and green, attracting many new couples to come here specifically for wedding photos. By the lake and in the dense forest, let this pure land and water witness love, which is definitely the most romantic thing in the world.
