What a wonderful way to break up a trip from Hikone to Niigata. We walked from the parking area up to the temple on top, beautiful views, even though it was windy and cold.

When I stopped by Noo's Marine Dream, there was a guide here. Therefore, if you go west on National Highway No. 8, you will see a large rock in the Sea of Japan. There are no signs on the road, so if you don't notice it, you will pass by. This rock is also related to Fossa Magna. There is a bridge (Akebono Bridge) and you can cross it. It's a rocky area, so you need to be careful at your feet, but you can go up to the shrine or observatory (lighthouse). The outbound and back routes are different 々.

Fossa Magna floating in the sea
