Renewal completed
Original Text
The renewal work in front of Iwakuni Station has almost been completed, and the stone monument has been installed in a new place. The location is almost the same as before and you can see it immediately.
The display on the map seems to be off, but it is a monument on the right side of JR Iwakuni Station West Exit. It seems that it was built on August 14, 1945, so as not to forget the air raid on Iwakuni the day before the end of the war. When I visited, it was under renovation work in front of the station, protected by a cover, and was in a state that was less noticeable than usual.
only a monument on the sidewalk near iwakuni station
Original Text
It was very close to Iwakuni Station, which is currently under renewal work, and a stone monument with only "Japanese" was standing beside the sidewalk. On the back of the monument, it says "Bomb Drop Center", and I read the inscription under "Wa" and found that it was a stone monument to pray for the air raid during World War II. It was a relatively new stone monument in 1995.
