As I chugged along the infamous Death Railway, I felt a mix of emotions - sadness, reverence, and gratitude. The scenic Thai countryside contrasted starkly with the somber history of the railway, built during WWII at the cost of countless lives. I couldn't help but reflect on the sacrifices made by prisoners of war and civilians who toiled to build this very track. The ride was a poignant reminder of the devastating consequences of war and the importance of remembering the past.
