I went to see the first sunrise. It is a superb scenic spot selected as one of the eight scenic spots on the Minami Satsuma Kaido. Below you can see Makurazaki, the best bonito-producing place in Japan, and Mt. Kaimondake floating in the sea beyond that. It is said that Mt. Kaimondake is the place where you can see the most Satsuma Fuji in the mountains that are more like Mt. Fuji than Mt. Fuji. Blessed with the weather, we headed for a wonderful New Year's Day 2020. When I hear that it will be a photo spot for Mt. Diamond Kaimond if you choose the time.
Well, if the weather is good, the scenery will be good. . .

On the way to Kagoshima City, there was something that looked like an observatory, so I stopped by. I looked over the scenery a little in the strong wind approaching the typhoon. Well, the visibility wasn't very good. And, because it is not very high, it may not be a place to be honestly spectacular.
There is an observatory at the pass from Bozu to Makurazaki, and when I looked at the direction of Makurazaki from there, I could see Mt. Kaimondake in the distance like a ink painting.
It is a pass between Bozu and Makurazaki. It was introduced as a photo spot on the local website, so I parked my car. I see, it's a scenic place. At the top of the pass, there is a monument to the song "Open Hiramon no Taki" by Kazuki Hatta, a court poet in the Meiji era, "Kefuko Open Hiramon no Taki". From a distance, Shurei Kaimondake and Makurazaki city are showing its beautiful appearance under your eyes. It is said that it was named Mitori Pass because travelers said they were fascinated by this scenery for a while ...
