Wat Phnom

Tashan is the birthplace of Phnom Penh, about 100 meters high, the top of the mountain is dedicated to the image of Mrs. "Ben" (that is, the English word penh of Phnom Penh), which is one of the symbols of Phnom Penh. Tashan Temple is located on the top of the mountain, about 30 meters high, with a very quiet environment. The temple is full of Khmer-style reliefs, majestic and magnificent. Climbing to the top of the mountain and climbing the tower can overlook the whole city. There is also a touching story about Tashan Temple. According to legend, in the 14th century, a woman named "Ben" picked up a Buddha statue that had drifted down the Mekong River due to flooding. She built the Buddha statue on a hill and built a temple to worship it. Gradually developed into a prosperous town. In the 15th century, the capital of the country was moved from Angkor to this place, and it was officially named "Bai Nang Ben", which means "Ben Madam's Mountain", and the local overseas Chinese called it "Phnom Penh".
