Real bang for your buck when you climb the tower to see the scenery.
We went with a four and a six year old. The hike was beautiful, and they both were excited to climb the fire tower and pretty pleased with themselves for getting the job done! The view from the top ...
Short hike for a great view!
30-40 Min hike depending on trail and ability. Orange trail is faster/steeper with 'seasonal' views of CT& Dutchess landscape. The Blue trail is more gentle but slower/longer. TAKE THE BLUE TRAIL DOWN...
Great outing
Take the kids or out of town friends. 30 minutes hike to tower and then the climb. Reward is the view. Advise not to go in windy or rainy day.
Nice view, confusing trail
We used an old version of "50 Hikes in the Hudson Valley" to find this place. The book didn't do a great job with directions, not the park's fault. However, once we got to the loop to the fire tower...
not the place for someone who is afraid of heights
