We came for a day trip to the ocean kayaking in Santa Cruz. The kayaking company, Santa Barbara Adventures are knowledgeable and adventurous. They provide the necessary gear for the weather. We spent about 3 hours on the water exploring wildlife, marine life and ocean caves. Our guide, Billy, knew the islands and the oceans well. The wind was strong that day, kayaking against the wind, and the surge made it difficult. Overall a great experience. The boat ride was not too bad, an hour was enough otherwise the return trip would be difficult. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to hike the island and I guess I had to come here on other trips later.
