Glencoe Village ( Glencoe Village is located at the northwest end of the canyon, on the south bank of the River Coe River, entering Loch Leven (a lagoon on the shore of Lake Loch Linnhe). The village is located in the Ross, Skye and Lohab areas of the Highland Council District for local government use. This is the Inverness etiquette function of the Argyll and Acting Officers area of part of the Registered County. The village is surrounded by magnificent mountain views and is popular with serious mountain hikers, rock and ice climbers.
