The Mount Schaff, located in St. Wolfgang, is located next to Lake St. Wolfgang, and the mountaineering train can reach the top, and in good weather, you can see seven lakes in the Salzkamergut region.
Unfortunately when we were near the top the sky was cloudy and the view was not particularly good. But it was good that we found a small cafe on the top of the mountain with drinks and snacks. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. Overall this trip to the mountain was great, and it would be perfect if the weather was good!
You cannot complete your journey to Wolfgang Lake without the mountain top here. You can also walk up and down yourself. Trams will stop operating in winter (about a week or so). So check the schedule before you go. The cost of a round trip is 36 euros per person. The return trip must be fixed.
Although the fare is a bit high, I feel that it is worth the fare after going to the top of the mountain. You can take the train up the mountain and spend three to four hours walking through the surrounding trails. When the weather is good, there is an indescribable sense of breadth in the mountains. When you are tired, you can find a stone to sit down and look at the scenery everywhere.
